Red Light Camera in a rental car
Posted by: Traffic Infraction ()
Date: April 14, 2019 04:54PM

The joys of Fairfax City. Admittedly I accidentally ran a red light. And of course it had to be in the camera zone. Driving a rental with Delaware plates. Will the city bill the rental car company, not ticket it or will the rental company send me a bill ?

The rental car company will get it and pass it on to you with a $25-$50 admin fee. It's in the contract you signed.

Ooof!! Anyone know how this works if rental was billed to a government credit card?

You pay the credit card bill. If you pay through your expense report it’ll probably be an “unallowable”. Means you pay whatever isn’t covered by the JTR.

Too bad it was a rental, or you'd have been ok with out of state plates, and just ignoring it.

I threw 4 years of red light tickets that OT Alexandria gave straight into the trash.

My home state told me they didn't give a shit about VA ticketing, so neither did I.

Not true. They will get your information needed to send your ass to collections if you don't pay. Unless you're a nigger with a suspended license and poor credit score, I wouldn't follow this guys advice.

Absolutely true. 4 years in your dump of a state, with out of state plates and license, and I never paid one ticket, nor did my state suspended my DL, and zero dings on credit score.

Your state might not follow through for DMV transcript requests. Anyhow, OP likely lives in Virginia so he probably has a Virginia DL, Therefore your advice would get his license suspended.

My state emphatically tells yours to get bent. I especially loved the, "don't worry about the tiny tickets" my DMV would email me, and the absolute rage when one of your cops realized he couldn't do a fucking thing about it. Lol.

The trouble you'll go through if in fact one of those tickets does decide to "show up" will be insane.

Like, out to dinner, and a boot on your car insane. Or towed to some inbred parking lot.

Sometimes these charges don't happen overnight, sometimes the wheels of the government do turn slow, but, it ain't worth it just to think you can get away with not paying a few tickets.

Have fun, big guy!

Yeah...I'd really like to see one of your inbred cops come to my state and try to boot my auto...lol.

Bullshit little boy. Even if your fairytale was true, you can have a warrant issued for non-payment. If they issue a warrant, you'll get a ride from the airport, but it won't be Uber.

Just to make you feel at home, we'll assign bubba to show you the ropes. He may even end up being your cellmate. You'll be the one pissing your pants and crying for your mommy.
