This goes for any business or even government you do not support it values or what it is doing. Its that simple, do not buy from them, if you have a reasonable choice elsewhere. For vegetables, its easy, but for some other things in life, sometimes not so much. Like Fairfax County government, pretty much have to pay property taxes (if not, often not good consequences as a person or family) and even sales tax (to a limited extent, can buy online from some 3rd party sellers on Ebay and Amazon who not collect taxes, but who has time to keep track of all those purchases for the VA Consumer Use Tax). Just the other day, bought three items at Amazon, all fulfilled by Amazon; but one of the items by a 3rd party seller yet fulfilled by Amazon was not taxed which definitely not tax exempt which was a kitchen cleaner product, go figure, and that was after last year's Supreme Court ruling on the issue. That on the side, but who says you have to pay Fairfax County's user and optional fees i.e. adult education classes, school fundraisers (plays and sporting events), park fees, bus and train fares, and so on. Just don't use those services. If live close enough to Loudoun and Prince William, can buy locally there instead, which I sometimes do, more so Loudoun. Businesses and government are influenced by how much revenue or not they can collect and their bottom line, with the exception of the federal government trillions of dollars deeply in debt.
Great website on the major hot topic political issues for the larger and major chain store businesses as to which ones you should support whether you are conservative or liberal
If conservative, pay cash or with check by a like minded local bank for your purchases when possible, rather than supporting the more liberal credit card companies through the 2-3% of purchase transaction fees merchants have to transmit to those companies. Yes, I nearly always pay cash at Chick-fil-a, but that does not wok so well for a big ticket electronics item.
