I've never really understood why gay people want to be part of the catholic church, whose teachings, at least when I was "part of it" were basically:

1. Gays (or gay sex) is bad
2. You can't pick and choose which teachings of the church you will follow...you either follow 'em all, or you aren't really a practicing catholic.

Now, 1 and 2 above are my understanding of the "rules"...I know that some religious/bible freak might get on here, and start doing that bible babble stuff where they kind of say, no, that's not it, it's this way, or that way, or the other way, or whatever, but, as far as I understood it, through 12 years of catholic "education", that is what they were saying...

So, if you're gay,

1. Why would you want to be part of a group that kind of doesn't like you? Oh, I know, jegus loves everybody, but, c'mon...they definitely preach against it. Seems like a major pre-occupation of theirs for some reason.

That and jerking off really seemed to get priests upset for some reason.

2. Understanding you either accept ALL the teachings of the catholic church, or you aren't one, why do some gays call themselves "catholic"? The term that they used back in the day was cafeteria catholic...as in, you couldn't go through the line, and pick and choose...

I know, or at least think, the church in question with this thread is not catholic, but it does seem that one fellow is upset with how he has been treated at his church...so, why not just say f it, I'll go chant and light candles and dance around to some fictional character somewhere else?

Priests who lie in court really piss people off. When they go after dying people, they get nominated to the Asswipe 100 List — people who are just counted as scum of the earth.
