It would be nice to be able to read all of that from the hand of Bob Mueller, rather than the mouth of the somewhat suspect Bill Barr. We know that all sorts of shady dealings were going on and that the Trump crime family takes itself to be above the law, The question of whether their depravity rises to the level of a conspiracy to defraud the United States is actually a rather minor one in the grand scheme of things. Starr operated under a different process (Independent Counsel) which, for good reasons, was changed specifically so as NOT to have the results just tossed out there. This from Vox explains it fairly well for Millennitard newbs:


WASHINGTON — Attorney General William Barr may have written the epitaph of Robert Mueller’s investigation, but another conservative lawyer from the ‘90s put an unmistakable imprint on the probe into President Donald Trump: former independent counsel Ken Starr.

In 1998, Starr published his official report on former President Bill Clinton’s extramarital affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky — chockfull of lurid detail about the couple’s sexual relationship, including oral sex in the Oval Office.

It was considered so explicit that it was dubbed a “voluminous work of demented pornography” by the writer Renata Adler. And it provoked such a severe backlash that it changed how American presidents get investigated — and itt's why you can't read the Mueller report. It also helped make sure Trump’s own attorney general got to make a ruling on his boss’s alleged obstruction of justice — before Congress could even review the evidence.

Starr’s report drifted so far from his original mandate, which was to investigate the Clintons’ shady land deals in Arkansas, that both Republicans in Congress and the Clinton administration agreed to rein in the power of the independent counsel’s office.

So in the summer of 1999, the old law was allowed to quietly die, and Reno’s DOJ put new regulations in place, which have governed Mueller’s entire investigation into Trump’s ties to Russia. They are the reason his final report isn’t yet public.

What changed:

The title: “independent counsel” became “special counsel.” That word change signified a major shift in the power and independence granted to the position.

The process: The new rules put more power in the hands of the attorney general — including the right to decide how much of the investigator’s concluding document would ever see the light of day. Specifically, the old rules had called for the independent counsel to submit a report directly to Congress that documented any “substantial and credible information that an impeachable offense may have been committed” — a standard Ken Starr himself later described as a “surprisingly low threshold of evidence.”

Mueller would know if they lie, and they can't take the risk he would tell. Not only Mueller would know, but also the attorneys, FBI agents and staff that put the report together. Any of them could speak. So, for B/T to be safe in lying about the report, Mueller et al also have to be part of the conspiracy. And if they are part of the conspiracy, it's easier to just leave the information out of the report than to lie about it afterward.

The likely hood that B/T are lying about the report is very, very small.

With regard to the actual collusion the Mueller Report is very clear. They found no collusion.

You forgot to add, "and no one was indicted or charged with anything having to do with Hillary's email allegations" and "the special prosecutor was a close friend of someone who Hillary just fired and was heavily involved in her email allegations" and "the special prosecutor put a dozen pro-Trump lawyers on his team, including 2 that worked for the Trump foundation".

It's an apples to oranges comparison; No one can give a meaningful answer to the question unless you rewrite it to account for the differences.
Among the significant facts you overlook:
The investigation of Trump was started by Obama, not Mueller. It used investigators picked by AG Lynch, not Sessions. Mueller kept them on when he took over. At least one of them was so anti Trump biased that he had to fired (Strzok). Hillary's investigators have to have been hand picked by the republican party in your example. It makes a difference whether it's your friends or your enemies who investigate you.

FBI director Comey made the determination in the Clinton case; AG Lynch had agreed in advance to let his ruling stand. The FBI director has no such authority; legally, the USAG makes that decision. Comey did NOT say no crime was committed; in fact, he listed several pages of illegal actions (mishandling of classified information, etc) but then announced that the FBI would not seek prosecution. In trump's case, the finding from Obama's investigators was that no crime was committed, not that there was a crime they wouldn't prosecute. That's a huge difference.

McConnell has NOT blocked every attempt to release the report. Saying so is simply a lie. In fact, he hasn't blocked ANY attempt. Schemer himself admitted that when he said during floor arguments that the vote was only a sense of the senate that had no legal authority and would not compel release of the report. Trump, Barr, and McConnell have all said they want to release the report. The release of the report is being handled under rules put in place during the Clinton admin. Those rules require that the report be vetted by agencies to make sure no classified information is released. That takes time. It hasn't been a week and you guys are yelling 'conspiracy to suppress'. That tells me that you have an agenda and are not interested in the truth. Under Obama it frequently took months for reports to be vetted and you dems said that was all right; it's all right now.

As I showed in an earlier post, the claim that Barr is hiding something (another conspiracy theory of the left) is unlikely to be true. To quote myself:

What I don't understand is, if the report is a complete exoneration, as Bonespurs says it is, why they wouldn't be rushing it to the printer. Keep in mind the language Barr used. "The evidence does not establish..." That is not total exoneration. Barr is saying that there is evidence, it simply does not reach the level of "beyond a reasonable doubt". If the report totally exonerated Trump, Barr would have said so. He did not. I wonder why he couldn't.

One way or the other, I would like this put to bed. There is enough financial shit out there to cause Trump problems for a lifetime, so if the collusion thing is a dry hole, prove it. Release the damn report, let's put it behind us, and we can move on to SDNY where the real action is going to be.

There are thousands of pages of regulations and laws that govern the release, what can and cannot be withheld, how it should be reviewed, etc. Any agency that contributed any information has to sign off on the vetting and review, and there were numerous agencies involved. It will take time to do.

One example: Say a conversation is quoted in the report. Where did it come from? Was it a wire tap? Is the wire tap still active? Is the case still active? Will releasing the text compromise the investigation by alerting the parties quoted? Will the release endanger the life of a party who wore a wire? Will the bug be exposed so we lose a valuable intelligence source? The idea that it 's not hard to do that is, to put it kindly, totally wrong headed.

I'm willing to let the process work, but it is Trump who is taking the victory lap, supposedly not having seen the report. Considering the language Barr used "did not establish" as opposed to "exonerate" or "no evidence", etc.), and the fact that Trump lies incessantly, that would seem to be premature. We'll see. But if the report doesn't come out, or is so redacted so as to be unreadable, intelligent people will know the reason why.
