The best is his criticizing of the fact that they put in truck barriers when in reality, this dude comes across as very unhinged and could be the reason they did so. If he were smart, and doesn’t mean to be making threats, he’d drop this public crusade since the police are undoubtedly keeping record of all this.

But don’t you see that’s part of it? To him, the whole establishment is in on it, police and all. It’s a big conspiracy against him and probably involves lizard people too. There’s no arguing with crazy. Let’s just hope those that are enabling him stop, and help him to get the help he clearly needs.

He left the Episcopal Church long ago. Like me, no time for assholes and hypocrites.

The funny thing is that Lindsey Malm Anders, the OP, doesn’t get that:

1) She just gives the conflict that much more free advertising.

2) She plays right into the criticism that Grace Church, where her dad is rector, is toxic.

Especially with 20-something’s, among whom 2/3 reject organized religion, often due to perceptions of hypocrisy, all she’s doing is putting another nail in the parish’s coffin and guaranteeing that the future is grim for the church.

Same for her dad. He’s his own worst enemy, but too narcissistic to see it.

At this point, I think the damage to the church is irreparable, and every day the church just makes it worse. It’s painted itself in a corner with no way out, and hatred and ugly rhetoric isn’t the solution.

Another thing: There really are issues with a pedophile at the church. Malm’s passive-aggressive approach to the matter — which is often his approach to conflict — just doesn’t cut it in this day and age of church scandal.

Nor is 24/7 access by parishioners to the building a great idea. Everyone and their twin brother has keys to interior doors. It’s a huge building and offers way too many chances to be alone with a child. But the attitude of entitlement by parishioners means this is a problem that’s never going to be fixed.

In fact, tbe theft of laptops from the school library happened when a parishioner used a family member’s keys to access the library after hours. So there’s plenty of warning that things need to change but no real leadership; the only leadership Malm has shown is his effort to discredit critics by saying that they are mentally ill and dangerous—-approaches that show his lack of pastoral ethics, and which guarantee that both the school and the church will continue to decline.

Lindsey’s efforts, and Leslie Malm’s various lies, simply add credence to these conclusions and undercut Bob’s carefully crafted mythology about how his is a close family.

In short, the place is coming unraveled is very public fashion. Which is a shame, because most people there are really, really nice.

FYI, I was a member there for a little over two years—a move I deeply regret.

Try again. I’m the OP and have no idea who Lindsay is. My guess is that the Malms want nothing to do with you nut jobs and they are not active on this forum. So please don’t attribute my unbiased perceptions as those coming from anyone with a stake in these matters. I concluded Eric was insane on my own volition.
