Looks like we'll be in the mid-70's for most of the rest of the day, with some possible showers coming along late in the evening. Thunderstorms and temps in the 80's are still possible for Thu and Fri.

Meanwhile, President Ding Dong barely notices that the COVID death toll he did so little to constrain is now about to surpass 100,000. He's too busy offering to broker disputes between India and China, I guess. This is just the worst President in US history by far. Worse even than The Disastrous Decider, Bush-43.

In other news, Bozo Bobby Manfred is apparently surprised that players are not at all enthusiastic about these latest plans to pass off all of MLB's current financial woes onto the players' shoulders. This latest short-sighted plan will not only fail on its own, but it will make efforts to find actually workable solutions that much harder to get to. Like Trump, MLB is just plain dumb.

Well, it was already 70 degrees outside when I got up this morning, and since we'd had some showers earlier and more were thought by experts to be on the way again soon, I have already scampered down the driveway and back, in a successfully dry retrieval of the morning paper. Although a solitary deer was seen making its way along the east side of the property late yesterday, I did not encounter any wildlife this morning, just an excess of humidity that made the air feel almost clammy out there. That's not a good thing at all. Not much wind out there, but some breezes are expected to kick up later as well. Should see a high in the low 80's by late afternoon, and things are likely to remain warm and sometimes stormy through Saturday. If we can make it to Sunday though, it looks like we'll be able to welcome some sunny, cool, and drier air into the area. That's the good stuff.

Not good stuff at all is pretty much anything that the despicable Grifter in Chief tries to pull off. His latest nefarious scheme involves trying to go after tech companies for alleged bias against conservatives. The evidence for that is their putting generic fact-check warnings on posted material that seems to be untrue. This becomes bias simply because conservatives lie so much more often than others do. How unfair that purposeful liars are being called out while those endeavoring to tell the truth are getting off scot-free! Yes, that sort of shit actually makes sense to the warped and diseased minds of Trump world.

In other news, the Mariners have informed their minor league players that they will be paid through the end of the 2020 season as originally scheduled. MLBPA has meanwhile told Bozo Bobby Manfred that his 2020 MLB salary proposals are not realistic, with Max Scherzer noting that poverty pleas based on an 82-game schedule could be dealt with simply by playing a 100-110 game schedule instead. None of this is apt to be resolved soon, except that it must be at this point if hopes for an even remotely sensible season are to be saved.
