The facts are that — as you missed out on entirely — 66 inside the Beltway went from HOV-2 to HOV-3 last Dec 5. That means the wife and I are asked this season to pay $11.55 to travel from Rosslyn to the Beltway after 1:00 games, an increase of $11.55 over what we were asked to pay in prior seasons. So we switched all our 1:00 games to games later in the day. Problem solved. It is also the case that in addition to tolls, various HOV-related fines exist and that these cannot either be paid or avoided using an EZ-Pass. You’ve perhaps not previously been aware of those either?

There is a chance for a few showers after sunset, but it’s all good until then. Highs today should be just under 80 with humidity in the 60s and SW winds at 5. No rain.

Real President Joe must meanwhile still wait for cuckoo K-Mac to come to his senses on the senseless matter of the debt limit. Like the 2nd Amendment, this is a bit of legalistic fluff that we’d all be better off without, but the children in the room can’t help but want to play with it. The morons.

In other news, Patrick Corbin pitched pretty well, and Joey Meneses had four hits helping the Nats to plate runs in seven of their eight turns at bat, as they rather handily turned back the Mets by a score of 10-3 to earn a 2-2 series split. The boys have flown down to Miami now, and will play three against the Marlins before flying back home to take on the Tigers. This evening’s game will see sometimes tough righty Josiah Gray taking on sometimes tough lefty Jesus Luzardo.

Mass made slavery illegal before the Treaty of Paris which was sometime in Aug, Sep or Oct, 1783, I'm just too lazy to google the exact date right now. The Mass constitution went in effect in 1780 but I'm too lazy to google the exact date of that, too. The Fed was wrote in 1787 and went in effect in 1789. I'm still too lazy to google the exact dates. In fact, by 1781, it was clear to most people the Mass courts weren't going to backup slavery b|c they made a lot of anti slavery rulings. The Mass courts finally made it absolutely illegal by saying the Mass constitution didn't allow it.

So there you have it. 2A's roots were in a constitution of an anti slavery state, a constitution that was ruled by the courts to not allow slavery. It caem from anti slavery sources, not pro slavery. In other news, the Nats were victimized again by a Jorge Soler 2-run homer, as an otherwise credible outing by Mackenzie Gore was turned into a 4-3 loss to the Marlins. So, the hardscape guys were by this week. The drainage channels are in need of some repair, and of course the tunnels themselves need to be roto-rootered to clear out accumulated debris. All these trees make for ideal conditions for moss, so we need to step in from time to time on behalf of the shingles.
