Well, the Whiffies had to zip it up last night after but a single Teresa Brewer reference. What a bunch of laughable and easily wounded weaklings and wussies. And now here's one of these low-lifes up extra early today to make an even bigger out-of-the-loop ass of himself than usual. What dopes these disconnected little nitwits are.

Meanwhile, it was quite the busy day out here in the Sweet Spot yesterday. Had to squash a few on-line bugs early on, but then quickly shower and dress before the cleaning people arrived. Then it was off to the salon to join the wife for a delightful pedicure, and on from there to meet up with The Principals for another tasty mid-day meal. As the idiot remote-viewer wannabe once again failed to detect, we decided to do a Greek place yesterday, not an Italian one. Souvlaki, gyros, and Greek salads all around instead of ravioli, sausage, and marinara galore. Plenty of pinot grigio though. That tends to be a constant. Again, I didn't do the check yesterday, but it was certainly more than what some unsecured credit carrying loser from back east could have comfortably handled.

As for this morning, it's a pleasant enough 66 degrees out there just now. We did have half an inch of rain overnight which helps to explain the current humidity reading of 95%. That should be declining as the day goes on, as despite mostly cloudy skies, there is very little chance of further precipitation. There was just a touch of breeze blowing as I went out and back to haul in the morning paper, but there was still a bit of a cool mist hanging in the air. No morning wildlife, but it would certainly be reasonable to think that at least some of these specimens will be stopping by to visit later on.

The deer will be welcome here of course, while the brutish and widely reviled President Ding Dong will insist on inserting his fat, failed, and foolish ass into locales where he has been specifically told to stay away. He just can't pass up an opportunity to go out and incite some sort of violence or other somewhere. That's just the sort of dismal, small-minded, America-hating divider that he is. Also of course the sort who would ease instead of enforce pollution limits on coal-fired power plants during a pulmonary pandemic. Choke the little children! That's our trusty Donny Dumb-Dumb for you. They don't really come any worse.

In other news, Erick Fedde got through six innings in his start against the Phils last night, but unfortunately, he gave up six runs along the way, and when Wander Suero gave up a two-tun bomb in his one inning of relief work, even the thundering bats of Trea Turner and Juan Soto were not enough to prevent an 8-6 Nats loss. That leaves us with a phony-ball record of 12-20, now even further in last place and fading fast from being in any sort of playoff picture. Patrick Corbin will go against Aaron Nola tonight anyway, but prospects here are dim on every count.

Also confounded by darkness all around of course are the collected dolts and dimbulbs of fizzled out Falls Church City. Long plagued by excesses of low-wattage types, the Small City has been a dark and dimly lit location for quite a while. Still no further word re The Corpse of S Washington Street, but City officials and others did find time to go out and stage a 'ground breaking' photo op for that stretch of newly separated ped-bike trails along the W&OD. Sorry I had to miss out on that. Looks like everyone had to once again miss out on branzino at Pizzeria Orso though. Seems like they just don't serve that stuff these days, prepared on a proper grill or not.

And at the very same time of course, Pizzeria Orso has not managed to add any sort of branzino at all to its menu for today, a menu that I am given to understand they would not have bothered to update in any case. No reports either of any proper grill being lately installed at 2941. Such a sorrowfully strange and highly fucked up distortion of the real world it is that these poor Falls Church loser-shits are somehow constrained to inhabiting. They would be so much better off in simply moving to Brockmont.

Out here amidst the unsurpassed beauties of the Sweet Spot of course, it has already been and continues to be a beautiful September morn. We did have some overnight showers as expected, but it was quite a comfy 72 degrees when I first got up and headed out to find the morning paper. Sunshine easily found its way through partly cloudy skies that might turn mostly cloudy later on, as chances are that late afternoon and early evening showers and t-storms will once again move into the area, Until then, we should have temps that will peak in the mid-80's with soft breezes and declining humidity. Looking back, we certainly had a very fine and heat-wave-free August out this way, and it looks like autumn is about to earn only similarly high marks. Certain wildlife calendars may soon be disturbed by the coming of the rut, but we'll hope that returns to normal will not be long in coming.

Another thing hopefully not long in coming would be the dispatch of this simply hideous President Ding Dong, an ill-mannered dunce-brute who insists on barging into places where he is not welcome after first having his thugs and hooligans go in and bust up the furniture. Then he tries to blame whatever damage on 'Fake News' and 'far-left politicians', neither of which actually exixts, that in stark contrast to extremist hate-groups such a 'Patriot Prayer' that actually do exist. Easily now the worst President in US history, this dope must soon be sent sailing down the river of no return.

In other news, Patrick Corbin was not at his best, pitched well enough last night. He ran into two runs worth of trouble in his fifth and final frame though, and as the Nats managed just two hits off Aaron Nola over his eight innings, the game went down as no contest. The final score was 6-0 after a particularly weak relief outing from previously pretty effective Kyle Finnrgan. So despite all the positive spin and cheerleading coming from both Dan-Bo and Bob & FP, the club is mired in last place in the NL East and has a better winning percentage than only the Pittsburg Pirates. That anything much is somehow going to improve this month is seeming more than just 'improbable' at this point. We do have Max on the mound tonight, but the Phils will have Zack Wheeler out there. He's had quite a strong phony-ball season so far, suggesting that silent bats may remain quiet again tonight. it's just not a good situation for the DC side at all right now.

Even worse off of course are the dopes and derelicts of dwindled Falls Church City. Ever fumbling along in a state of grade-school playground ineptitude, these losers can only hope somehow to vent the frustrations of their raging ignorance, envy, and butthurt. New piles of all that will of course be created the next time we walk out the door to go enjoy a meal. From early talk with The Principals, we may well be back to an Italian place next time around. There are many good ones around, though none of them are to be found in Falls Church City, where the losses of Mad Fox and Meat in a Box are still being so severely felt.

So seriously frazzled by mere reference to Trip Advisor's rankings of the Top Five Italian restaurants in NoVa -- three of which we have recently dined at, but none of which offer any views of 123 -- the thoroughly thrashed Whiffies foolishly decided to indulge in running away to spend some hide-away time visiting the Brockmont Debacle Memorial, that awful site where so many among them suffered horrible deaths at the brutal hands of villains such as Redfin, Zillow, Trulia, Home Town Locator, and the like. And to the surprise of no one, the results of this reboot were just as awful for them as the original, but resort to stupid shit has been one of their hallmarks for a long, long time, so one more such misguided misstep hardly came as any sort of shock.

Things out here in the more than magnificent Sweet Spot this morning did not come as any sort of shock either, having been more or less as usual, which of course means terrific. At 75 degrees, it was just a tad warmer than usual when I got up. The sunlight was dancing with the clouds at that hour, causing ever changing patterns of light and dark to ripple across a backdrop of gorgeous green lawns and gardens. We had some sprinkles in the early AM hours, so the humidity was noticeable when I headed down and back to retrieve the morning paper. That has already fallen back to 71% now and it should continue to head south as we move into afternoon. The chance of showers and t-stroms should however build toward sundown, to the point where storms should be expected to pass through at some point overnight. It is what it is, I guess.

And who can be surprised that President Ding Dong is again upping the levels of his attacks on Americans living in all these places where actual numbers of people actually live. He simply hates these urban sorts who so consistently choose to elect practical government and refuse to vote for or in any other way endorse either him or his smarmy, low-brow policies of hatred and division, notions that range from the merely misinformed and thoroughly ineffective to the absolutely venal and deliberately destructive. We might as well have Putin as this unrelenting asshole.

In other news, Max Scherzer was only OK over his six-inning stint against the Phillies last night, with OK being hardly enough to overcome totals of no runs at all and just four hits for a second game in a row. We just can't hit a lick at the moment, and this whole downhill thing is only gaining momentum. All part of Bozo Bobby's nonsense season of a phony-ball charade, I guess, but the game itself is being damaged by a money grubbing media whoring themselves out for the pretense that this is somehow a credible version of actual baseball. It simply isn't.

It's not really unlike those miserably misguided local morons who will actually claim that life in Falls Church City is somehow a fine thing. That has simply not been the case since 1950 or so. Once a white-picket-fence bastion of family-friendly suburbia, the place rapidly become a cramped and over-crowded drive-thru area with neither the green-space charms of Vienna and beyond nor the walkable urban buzz and amenities of Ballston and beyond. Still no word on The Corpse, by the way.
