Abortion is the ultimate act of selfishness

Women are blessed with a gift - the ability to bear new life. This gift comes with a great responsibility to protect and nourish new life within them. Just as parents who are blessed with a child are responsible for the care and rearing of that child, pregnant mothers are morally responsible to care for and protect their unborn children. No one can reasonably argue that a woman should be told what she can and cannot do with her body. But our society's penchant for individual freedom and independence does not extend to harming or taking another human's life. Just as parents are held legally responsible for the safety and well-being of their children, pregnant mothers are morally responsible for the health and safety of the unborn child within them. No person's desire to exercise their individual freedom should ever overrule the well being or safety of another's life.

Well said...if life is not protected in the womb...it won’t be protected at the end...YOU will be given a death sentence when you age..surgery to save your life? No way, said the Marxist Messiah. You’ll get drugs to make you comfortable.

Abortion is murder. Period.

Giving birth to and properly raising a child may rank high on the acts of selflessness. To the extent abortion is an act of selfishness it is far less selfish than the selfishness of so called right to lifers that every woman who gets pregnant, UNDER WHATEVER CIRCUMSTANCES, must regardless of the harm it causes her bear and raise the offspring.

Depends. Anytime a sheboon aborts a niglet, it's a favor for society.

bear, yes. raise, no. WHATEVER CIRCUMSTANCES, no.

See how easy that was. Now have a big cup of TRUTH and stop posting nonsense.

Stupidity is the first requirement for membership in the ‘Cult of the Fetus’.

Immorality is the first requirement for membership in the 'Cult of Murdering Your Child'.

Your morals are based on the ignorance of ancient myth and superstition. Modern man long ago moved past all that. You somehow got left behind.

Your "truth" is far less truthful than you proclaim.

Pregnancy doesn't just involve a fetus getting womb and board in a woman's womb. Pregnancy involves exposes the woman to a host of physical, mental and financial risks, including death. Yes women still die in childbirth. Adverse consequences of a pregnancy can play out long after the woman gives birth. Setting that aside your understanding of the abortion v. adoption issue is at least a generation behind the time.

The days when an unwed mother could unilaterally have her child put up for adoption are over. The law recognizes that fathers also have rights to the child, and those rights are superior to the rights of a couple seeking to adopt the child until the court rules otherwise. A father asserting those rights can derail an adoption. If the adoption doesn't go through then the mother's obligations to the child remain.

Medical science is becoming more advanced at identifying early in childhood potential issues which can affect a child's development. Potential adoptive parents are becoming more aware of the problems raising children with these issues. So there is the potential that even if Dad is OK with the adoption the child might not be adopted and mother's obligations to the child remain.

Adopted children are increasingly making efforts to locate their "birth parents" whether out of curiosity or for other reasons. with the advent of DNA services it is becoming easier for these children to be able to track down their birth parents even if the court won't open up adoption records.

So quit with this de minimis nonsense. Forcing a woman to carry a fetus to term and give birth is a big imposition. The availability of adoption isn't a guarantee the mother won't be under an obligation to rear or support the child after birth.

Simple motto. Abort and look forward.

You used some big words. These goobers can't follow a logical argument; what makes you think they'll understand anything a fifth grader wouldn't know? Better rephrase using simpler vocabulary.

If a stranger (i.e., an actual human being) were to enter into your home unbidden and threaten to do to you what an unwanted pregnancy would do, you would under that laws of most states be justified in killing that intruder in self-defense.

COMPULSORY CHILDBIRTH is always a bad idea. And those two words are the only ones needed to sum up the immoral right-to-life ideal in its entirety.
