I laugh my ass when Trump try’s to take credit for Obama’s economy

Obama created more jobs his last two years than trump his first two. Look it up. The economy was humming along under Obama and he gave trump ball at 1 inch line. What Obama did was insanely miraculous. If trump had taken over country, when Obama did, we’d all be living on street. Thanks Obama for fixing country before handing it to trump

It's no use. These right-wing dummies know nothing at all about economics and even less about the history of the US economy. They just retweet whatever blithering nonsense they pick up from the disinformation cesspools of FOX News and the like. It's all just a great big Festival of Stupid over in their corner of the room.

Lol.... check out the economic growth under Obama. The economy just limped along, even in his last year, growth was a pathetic 1%.
Obama said this was the”new normal” for our economy.
Once we got his sorry ass out of there, trump began getting rid of growth choking regulations, cut tax rates, and the growth soared to 3%, even 4% one month.
Trump didn’t do anything special; he just gave the economy the freedom it needed to prosper. Blacks, Asians, women, Hispanics, whites, everyone is doing much better now than under Obozo.
The “community activist” was worse than even Jimmy Carter.
“If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor”; “ you didn’t build that”;” we have to rely on the stupidity of the American people “; “ navy corpseman”
lol......what a lying dunce.

The only thing Obama ever had "humming along" was him doing an 8-ball while Larry Sinclair gave him a hummer in the back seat of a limo in Gurnee Mills.

Obama's economy crawled along at sub 3% for 8 years so to try and give him credit is a joke.

You got the retired part right. The rest is the sort of wild-assed bullshit that we so often see from stampeding low-grade right wing dipshits who know nothing at all about economics or economic history. These folks are ever forced in their relentless ignorance to stoop to sheer stupidity.

The chart above is of course based on data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis. While you people are all just a bunch of fallen-down dopes, BEA represents the actual people who compile the official GDP statistics.

If you wanted to look forward instead of back, the Fed's projection for 2019 is for 2.3% growth, while it's long-term annual growth rate is sitting at 1.9%. Remember that the next time your lying FOX sources try to sell you a pig in a poke painting a far rosier picture.

When buildings were boarded up, people going out of business, over reaching government shoved down the peoples throat taking benefits from from those who worked to give them to those who refused to work or came into America for a green card and a welfare check. Record numbers of people put on social security disability to ruin benefits for those who deserve them, welfare at record numbers food stamps galore, all raising the nation deficit 10 trillion dollars in 8 years. high gas prices, illegals flooding into America with the blessings of Democrats continuing today as they will not defend Americans any further , a liberal to leftist movement farther left with Democrats moving first to socialism and today many towards pure communism, threats to confiscate lawful Americans legally purchased firearms property to punish the entire nation because of the wrongs of a few while doing nothing for blacks in Americas ghettos where 85% of gun crimes occur with black on black gun violence due to drugs that Democrats want to continue to move over our southern border as they resist the wall

It probably pointless to point this out to you, but the growth under Obama was in the service sector. That's not the basis for long term growth of the economy. Second, service sectors jobs are typically minimum wage. These jobs don't provide much additional tax revenue for local governments.

For a long version of this, try reading https://www.npr.org/2017/01/07/508600239/what-kind-of-jobs-president-has-obama-been-in-8-charts

You are probably one of those idiots that doesn't want Amazon's HQ2 either.

There has not been an economically successful Republican administration in more than 100 years. Dems have repeatedly had to ride in to the rescue, and the two that faced the worst situations of all were FDR and then BHO. Each was quite successful in these remedial missions, though FDR had less in the way of mindless opposition to overcome.

Yep, just because you say so makes it true. Lolz. Let me guess, trickle down doesn't work even tough companies like Amazon are given huge tax breaks to open a facility because it will lead to an increase in jobs and tax revenue, and walls don't work even though they have been in use for 5000 years with more being built to this day. Sure thing sparky

Reagan = worst economic downturn since the Great Depression. (Record broken by Bush-43). Stock market crash of 1987. Paved the way into the S&L crisis. Encouraged massive leveraging of home equity.

Yeah. That's why Reagan was reelected with the biggest landslide in modern history in 1984, and GHWB even rode his coattails into the Presidency in 1992.

Reagan fixed the worst economy of my lifetime and maybe saved America in the process. In 1980, under James Earl Carter, unemployment was 7.2%, GDP "growth" was -0.3%, and inflation was 12.5%. By 1988, after eight years under Ronaldus Magnus, unemployment was 5.3%, GDP growth was 4.2%, and inflation was 4.4%.

I was working during all of those years. So I didn't need to read about them in some lying leftist textbook.

So please. Take your lies back to your ignorant brainwashed liberal POS droids who don't know any better.

Hussein Obama spent $10 trillion and waged war for 8 years longer than any other president in history. His GDP was the worst. Hussein Obama said manufacturing jobs were gone and that the new normal was 8% unemployment. You can't site one economic policy of Obama's that has contributed to this unprecedented growth.

^^^ Dude, the Great Bush Recession began in December 2007. By January 2009, it had become the worst economic collapse since the Great Depresion. The problem was a self-reinforcing, credit-driven, downward spiral. We’d never had one of those before, but where Bush was able to accomplish nothing, Obama had us turning the corner and heading up again in June 2009. The expansion has continued ever since.

Simple question to ask idiot liberals...if Obama's economy was so good, why did the Fed not raise rates but once during Obama's presidency, at the very end?

And why has the Fed raised rates like four times during Trump's presidency in just two years?

I know the left lacks a basic understanding of economics in a capitalist system, as demonstrated almost every day by AOC, Bernie, etc. But...

You would think if Obama had the economy humming along they would have raised rates once in his first 7.9 years, right?

I forgot, that pesky recession that officially ended in June 2009...

Simply asking the question is an admission of nearly unimaginable stupidity. Had you been even marginally intelligent, you would have noted that (thanks in significant part to an obstructionist GOP), the economy did not get up enough steam to make it back to pre-crisis benchmarks until 2015-16. It was that gathering positive momentum that was handed over to Trump. And that he will likely sooner or later lose.

> And why has the Fed raised rates like four times

Whether they raise rates or not, the Fed explains itself in detail every six weeks or so. Obviously, you have missed many dozens of these briefings over the years.

> I know the left lacks a basic understanding of

LOL!!! Capitalism is a failed construct. It died everywhere in the early 20th century. Everyone just tossed in the towel and moved on to something else. Some moved left. Some moved right. Nobody stayed where they were. Laissez-faire free-market capitalism simply doesn't work. All that does work and has in the modern world is 'managed capitalism' -- what confused dummies often refer to as 'socialism'.

[Keep in mind that traffic lights are a form of socialism.]

> You would think if Obama had the economy humming
> along they would have raised rates once in his
> first 7.9 years, right?

Wrong. By mid-2007, the GOP had so badly screwed things up that collapse was inevitable and a very long recovery was the best that could be hoped for. Especially given that the villains actively opposed recovery at every step along the way, this due to shameful beliefs that a bad economy would help them at the polls. Party before country has been a GOP mainstay for quite a long time.

> I forgot, that pesky recession that officially
> ended in June 2009...

The end of a recession comes at the point when things finally stop getting worse. It does not mean that things are all better again. Just another thing that you were too stupid to realize.

Every time some useless socialist Democrat hero of yours like Jimmy Carter or Obama wrecks the sled, we have to bring in a Republican like Reagan or Trump to fix things and make the economy better.

The only thing I posted was the opening statement, so lots of other people agree with me. The so called grammar police have it wrong, but too stupid to realize it. I make a couple hundred grand a year, so I’m in the infamous 1 percent and in my lifetime, Obama has been the best president, by far.
The right is so unbelievably stupid that they actually spew over and over how the media never was hard on Obama, blah blah blah. What? Obama-no indictments in 8 years, so to act like trump doesn’t give the media plenty of ammunition, then you basement dwellers are dumber than I thought.

Many people do indeed hate working there (often for very good reason), but few just hate the private sector outright. After all, there has to be somewhere for the basket-case losers who fall off the lower rungs of the Ladder-of-Life to go once failure inevitably knocks them down.

Back in the day, there was a lifetime of pumping gas down at the filling station to look forward to, but now we need a variety of other Al Bundy-grade positions to suck up the dregs of the bumbler-class and at least keep them usefully occupied and off the public streets. The private sector is actually pretty good at hiding embarrassing things and people under some random rug or other.

His agenda was Repeal & Replace. Giant Failure.

It was also a wall that Mexico would pay for. Giant failure.

He did get his bad-idea Tax Cuts for the Rich passed by a whisker, but as they did for Bush-43, those will turn into a giant failure soon enough.

With foreign policy having been a wall-to-wall disaster that may ultimatly get him impeached, there is nothing else to talk about other than golf and all that Executive Time.

The GOP just doesn't get economics at all. Nine of the ten US recessions since 1950 came under Republican Presidents, and the one that didn't was the shortest and mildest one of the bunch.

There hasn't been an economically successful Republican administration in over a hundred years. That's pretty much the entire time during which economics has been understood as such.

As usual, it isn't quite that simple. This article is from 2015, it's the most accurate thing I can find in a 30 second Google search. It indicates at best, the obama economy was no better than the last year of Bush 43...

https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2015/jan/21/barack-obama/barack-obama-says-unemployment-rate-now-lower-fina/

and we know obama didn't improve anything in his last 12 months. Then there's the fact that obama had the most people in the history of this country on the food stamp program while telling us we need to tighten our belts for the new normal..

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016/12/worst-president-ever-obama-increases-debt-to-20-trillion/

When I go to a national park I'm told to not feed the animals because they grow dependent on handouts and can't take care of themselves. Yet this is the exact strategy libtardz want for the rest of us.

Lots of stretching there, considering that Geithner and Bernanke were key players from early on, and out-of-the-loop Bush was close to a non-factor throughout. Complex story that can’t be told on the basis of a calendar.

Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (Division A of Pub.L. 110–343, 122 Stat. 3765, enacted October 3, 2008.

AIG bailout, September 16, 2008.

GM, et. al. bailouts, December 19, 2008.

Etc.

Both Bush and Obama largely were irrelevant. Bush was a monkey. Listening to Obama trying to talk about economics was like listening to a chick talk about sports.

>>> TARP itself was way too late and much too small. Might have had some actual impact had it been larger and enacted and pushed out in the summer of 2007 instead of the fall of 2008. In the end it was just a useful go-to pot of money to draw from.

>>> AIG became an imperative because of the web of systemic risk that their massive misjudgments of how to hedge a CDS market position had brought about. There were so many dominos in that chain that letting the first one fall would have meant disaster.

>>> The 'bailout' (actually restructuring) of GM and Chrysler were part of TARP. Pretty much the only significant and enduring part, as those moves were critical in staving off an impending loss of some 3,000,000 jobs across the automotive sector.

> Both Bush and Obama largely were irrelevant. Bush

I'd bet that my wife knows more about sports than you do. And I certainly know more about economics than you do. You'd best stay away from our house if you want to avoid multiple ass-kickings.

Meanwhile, Bush and to some extent Hank Paulsen were largely irrelevant. The major players were Bernanke and Geithner, the latter both at the FRBNY and then as Treasury Secretary. But try as you might, you will not be able to write off the role that Obama played both in backing his two horses, and in successfully cobbling together an international consensus on how to deal with the crisis that the US had caused to begin with. No mean feat, that, but soon every economy with a pulse was doing a 'stimulus program' -- right on down to the likes of Thailand and Vietnam. Credit where credit is due -- clods like either W or Trump would never have gotten those sorts of results.
