Doesn't Hilltop run off Cedar Lane?

I used to drive a school bus in that area for FCPS.

Wonder if the guy is one of my former students.

Fairfax police arrest bank robber after surrounding house
Update, 6:50 p.m.:

At 6;30 p.m., the man was taken into custody, Officer Tawny Wright said. The man's name and age were not released pending the filing of charges.

Wright said the first officer arrived on Hilltop Road at 3;12 p.m., about 10 minutes after the robbery.

She said tactical officers entered the house where the man was hiding and arrested him without incident. She said there was no indication he was armed.

Wright said police plan to charge the man with robbery.

Original post:
The Fairfax County police have surrounded a house in the Vienna area where they believe a man is hiding who allegedly robbed a bank Friday afternoon.

The robbery occurred shortly after 3 p.m. at the BB&T Bank branch at 8416 Arlington Boulevard in the Merrifield area. Fairfax police spokeswoman Mary Ann Jennings said a man walked up to a teller, handed over a note, was given some money and fled on foot.

Police believe they tracked the man to a house in the 8600 block of Hilltop Road, just outside the town of Vienna. Jennings said police do not believe the man is armed, and that negotiators are trying to talk him out of the house.

Hey wiseass, I mean "Stupid!", if you know the area at all, you know that Hilltop Road is about 1 mile from that BB&T bank. I'd bet real dollars that they followed this guys footprints from the bank.

When I worked as a teller years ago, we had two different types of money in our drawer for thieves. I guess these days it makes a sense that the money could be traced by GPS these days.

I'd rather concede to a logical explanation than to bullshit name calling.

It's amazing how much some of you couch potato cops know about law enforcement. Seriously...tracked in the snow???? Is that seriously the best you can do? Oh I forgot, you are an expert because you TiVo'd a CSI once.

Man robs Fairfax bank, goes home, gets arrested
A search warrant filed in Fairfax County Tuesday tells the story about a bank robbery Friday afternoon that was followed by a three-hour police standoff in the Vienna area that ended peacefully in an arrest.

The robbery occurred shortly after 3 p.m. at the BB&T Bank branch at 8416 Arlington Boulevard in the Merrifield area. A man walked in, handed over a note demanding money, was given some cash by a teller, and then fled.

And then, police allege, he went home.

Bank employees happened to dart out of the bank and watch the robber escape in a silver Mercedes, and they jotted down the license plate, according to an affidavit written by Detective Stephen M. Needels. Officers ran the plate through the computer, came up with an address in the 8600 block of Hilltop Road, and sent a car over.

And there, backed into the garage, was the silver Mercedes with the license plate in question. While police waited outside, the garage door closed, Needels wrote.

Then, a woman who said she lived in the house approached police and told them that she had just spoken to her boyfriend on the phone. He allegedly told her "he had just robbed the BB&T Bank on Route 50 and was going to jail for life," Needels wrote.

The man did not come out of the house, so tactical officers and negotiators were called in, Hilltop Road was closed, and a barricade situation was declared for the next three hours.

At about 6:30 p.m., a man emerged and was arrested. Brooks W. Goode, 47, of the Hilltop Road address, was charged with robbery. Needels' search warrant return indicates he found "U.S. currency" in the house.

I had met Brooks a couple of times. Turns out he was a bit of a scam artist and was on parole for an offense in Arizona IIRC. If you put him in a group of 100 and asked someone the least likely to pop a bank, it would have been him. I think he got 30 years.

What type of bank robber forgets to tell the victims "Stay inside the bank until 30 minutes after I leave." LOL I wonder if this guy has robbed other banks in the area.

A GPS tracker in the money bag is an awesome idea. Just build it into a stack of hundreds. Of course banks these days have a policy of just give the robber the money with no tricks and let the cops handle it. Bank employees have been fired for not co-operating with robbers.

You low educated mother fuckers dont no this man for nothing. He is a good man and surely wasn't a dope head. Learn your facts and dont judge a book by it cover. This man was a father figure to me. I lived with him when he did the stuff back in az. He would never do anything to harm another person. He has fallen into rough times and im sure you have done stupid stuff in your life only one can judge.

Brooks Goode is at Lawrenceville Correctional facility in Virginia. He will be released 11/2018. Most bank robbers get to go to Frderal prison which is nicer than state prison. Looks like Brooksy is going to have a new asshole when he gets out. What a shame. A couple grand for 10 years of ass rape? Dumb fuck!

I really appreciate this post from 8 years ago, because, in college, I knew one of the characters in this sad story. It makes me wonder whether the poor guy wasn’t the victim of a head game. Cue Cliff Richards.

You’re just as bad as niggers, associating with this criminal!
He’s getting folded in half right now by “Demetrius” and “De’onté”
