FCPS Closings & Delays This Week

What will be the reaction this week by FCPS to the snow, freezing rain and ice? My guess is that school will be canceled on Tuesday and Wednesday with a two-hour delay on Thursday.

Based on the last closing/snow and the fact that the snow will be overnight. I'd say FCPS closed Tuesday. Two hour delay on Wednesday. No delay on Thursday.

I happened to be behind some FFX school buses the other day. It looked like both buses had brand new snow tires on them. I guess having new tires on the buses is a small trade off for the saftey of the kids.

Well I just ran on the Cross County trail in Fairfax City. There is a big yard there off Pickett rd. where they keep all the trucks and stuff for Fairfax City. All the snow plow trucks were being filled with dirt and were all lined up ready to go. My guess is there will be a lot of ice. I should change my tickets to Fort Lauderdale and leave today. I hate this cold weather.

PS. I miss Gravis!

I would say, if somthin bad happens at FCPS HQ, then there is 2 hr early close tomoarow, Tues, and no school wednesday, and 2 hr delay thurs. BEst scenario=no school rest of this week. Most likely: OP's version.

Trickie, FCPS does a damn good job plowing their schools, so that way tehy dont get sued by some soccer mom who thought that becuse she had an suv, she could drive fast in the snow so her kids wouldn't be late to school.

You got your wish, they have alreday decided to close for tomorrow. I was shocked they decided so early. Figured they would have waited until 5 am as usual.
