The logic behind using a powerwasher to break up the ice?

I feel like this is a really good idea (using a powerwasher), that more compacted snow would turn to slush, if not get blown away. And that this would be great for getting up that first layer of ice. Has anyone tried this idea?

And in the morning, all of the water you sprayed onto the ground will be sheet ice. How is this a good plan?

Not if the sun's out (like yesterday), most of it will evaporate.

Using a powerwasher on ice....holy crap....that's a good way to make an ice skating rink. Explains why y'all drive in snow the way you do?? Use your brain.

do it early on a sunny day; i'm sure it be fine... if the water ends up just sitting in one spot i'd use one of those wide brooms to push it around (to the yard?)...

Not sure how this would be preferable to using a shovel and rock salt.

Or do as I did this morning. I took my vehicle through a gas station car wash on the longest setting. I sat and watched the chunks fall off. No hazard of ice and my car was clean of salts.

I personally prefer a flamethrower. Gets rid of snow fast. Also works on pesty neighbors.
