What is going to move in to that spot?
On Reddit there was a post about Chic Fil-a but that hardly makes any sense when there is a huge one at Dulles EXPO center and one down Centreville road at the CIA University.

That is a horrible location for a fast food joint. Who wants to have to drive all the way into the shopping center to go there, then depending on which way you are headed, fight stupid traffic lights to get back on the road? Years ago I used to go to Sully all the time. Anymore I go to Lowes if I have to and that is about it. Horrible traffic configuration for the entire shopping center.

Maybe since all the stores in Vienna are all leased, they could set up a mattress stores in that spot? I don't think another fast food joint would move in there. Wendy's closed and they re-purposed it into a Dunkin' Donuts.

Never have gone to Chantilly for chicken or anything else. But at least we still have Annandale, Arlington, and in an emergency, Burke as sources for good old KFC.

KFC had been the only takeout anywhere in the area that was not burger king
Chantilly had not shopping center in it's middle - it was only KFC there pretty much on that corner

Glad to see that KFC closed! which also Yelp confirms. Have not been there in years since rude and poor service and once saw them abuse a disabled person, by one of the 3rd worlders who worked there.

Also because so many in western Fairfax County already, a new one replacing the old at the Dulles Expo Center, one not far from the Dulles Air and Space Museum, Fair Lakes (fairly new), and Fair Oaks Mall. The first two of these are within a mile or two of Sully Plaza.

It seems like a McDonalds would have made more sense. With the Chic-fil-a at Dulles Expo and one near the corner of Centreville road and Franklin Farm, it seems so redundant and not useful to have another one where KFC was located.
About 20 years ago there used to be a small McDonalds in the Franklin Farm shopping center. If one had opened up in the old Wendy's or KFC Sully location I am sure it would have done reasonably well.
