As someone in IT, I can say that there are a lot of crappy Indians, but also a lot of really good ones. A reasonable guess is that Google hired one of the VERY good ones for the job, because Google may be a lot of things (including possibly evil) but stupid they are not.

Someone wiser than thee or me observed that immigration comes in waves:
- The first wave is the best and brightest
- The second wave is the families of the first wave
- The third wave is, alas, all too often the folks the first wave left because of

We're seeing some third wave folks now, but that doesn't mean Indians are all bad, any more than any other group.
