RESTON, VA -- The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors has approved a significant redevelopment project in Reston that will replace vacant office buildings with a new 308-unit residential complex, according to a report.

WTOP reports that the board, at its Dec. 4 meeting, approved a seven-story apartment building at 1941 Roland Clarke Place south of the Dulles Toll Road, where two vacant two-story office buildings currently stand.

The new complex will include two interior courtyards, an outdoor pool, a third-floor patio, an eight-level parking garage, and some open space, according to the report.

You can always move to Culpepper, wherever that is.

No surprise. I only wonder how much the developers had to pay the Board Members who approved this - and if they had to pay Bulova extra for her retirement fund.

I used to work in that building about 25 years ago. Used to be CH2M Hill as I recall before I was there. We had that building and the one next door over the Pond. The 4 Transco High Pressure (750-1500 PSI) Natural Gas lines run right though the parking lot of the building with the Pond, this is why the building was built over the Pond because no permanent structures can be built over the Tranco pipes.

Interesting that this will be Apts right overlooking the Toll Road. We used to be regulated by the Reston Association and the Golf Course had to sign off on if they could see anything from the Golf Course.

Not sure if they will be able to dig deep with the Tranco lines so close?

Funny how times change, when I worked out that way the Reston International center was the tallest building in Reston. Been on the roof of the Reston International building a number of times.

Time to bail out of these area, 10 years and traffic will be the worst in the country!

We have to put up more free luxury housing for undocumented immigrants if we're going to keep Northern Virginia Blue!
