Space in which to support Trump is dwindling
Posted by: Game warden ()

Like so much other wildlife, Trump supporters now see their native habitat being gobbled up and destroyed left and right. Most of Mueller's work is yet to be released, but the work of federal prosecutors at the SDNY has already made a case for Trump all but impossible to make. It's plain now that Trump himself was directly involved in the planning and execution of multiple felonies. These crimes are so glaring that Democrats may have no choice but to impeach after the first of the year. Senate Republicans can then sink themselves in 2020 by pretending that nothing's really wrong. Just a witch hunt by hardened and conflicted Democrats. LOL!

Some here are so desperate that they are trying to fill in with high school football garbage from years ago. Trump's goose is plainly cooked!

The co-opted may indeed be ludicrously dumb, but at least the rest of us can laugh at them in their utter foolishness.

Lack of credible argument to the contrary elevates the OP to higher and higher status every day. Let's review...

"Like so much other wildlife, Trump supporters now see their native habitat being gobbled up and destroyed left and right. Kind of sums up the situation alright.

You’re right, he should be impeached for some as-yet unknown reason.

The Senate will not vote to convict.

Trump becomes untouchable.

And idiots like the OP drone on and on about how smart he is.

People thought the Senate would never vote to convict Nixon. Then GOP leaders went to the White House to pass on some news. Nixon promptly resigned.

The facts are that as Trump's situation grows worse and worse, more and more Republicans everywhere will come to see the increasing costs of even associating with him, much less remaining 'loyal'. At that point, Trump's removal from office will become a foregone conclusion.

This doesn’t happen often on FFU, but I would like to politely disagree.

At the time of Nixon’s resignation, both the house and senate were firmly in Democrat control.

Nixon was in an era of total distrust of the government and of those in authority.

I may be wrong, and I don’t like him, but Trump is very popular with a large amount of people still, and I think that quite a few republican senators would be voted out of office if they voted for removal from office (and some dems too, like Manchin).

Just my 2¢

Trump is awesome. One of the few politicians who actually doesn’t want people breaking into our country, bringing crime, drugs, and their third world .
education.
I agree with trump. I appreciate he’s standing up for our citizens, military, and police officers. If he could just get some help from these pussy politicians.

The barrier in 1974 was the same as it is today — 67 votes in the Senate to convict. Nixon fled when those votes appeared on the horizon. It’s what Trump needs to be concerned over as well.

Yes, but as stated earlier the democrats had a majority in the senate, and 67% would have been easier to reach.

At the moment, there are 47 democrats and 2 independents. Assuming every one of those voted for removal from office, you would still have to get 18 republicans to ‘flip’, and I don’t see that happening. Even if the specific senator had a personal grudge against the president, they would have to explain to their constituents why they ‘sided with the democrats’.

You misunderstand the history. Nixon quit because REPUBLICANS were going to vote to convict him. The open shame of Watergate had become too great for even those in the President's own party to stand with him, even though he had a substantial record of accomplishment. Trump lacks that record, and this is exactly the unsustainable situation that his administration is headed in. Could he yet save himself? Perhaps. And perhaps not.

The Democrat crimes committed trying to bring down trump, including the fisa warrants used to spy on carter page, is far greater than watergate. The difference is Nixon was a republican, so the media helped bring him down. Hillary, sally Yates, clapper are all dems so the media is not interested.

gerrymanderer2 (OP) posts several lies on ffu daily - many think he's a fx co gov worker who is getting paid to do it for false DNC democrat "advertising"

gerry equates a democrat skater investigation with the right to seize land from other whites

gerry is going back to his country

"The Media" today is dominated by the right-wing. Thanks in part to the Fairness Doctrine, things were more balanced and even-handed back in Tricky Dick's day. It was thus the naked venal nature of Nixon's many corrupt acts that fueled the headlines of his time.

Nixon was guilty of crimes - Trump has committed no crime

He has committed multiple crimes as the evidence amassed by Mueller and all the others will plainly show once it all comes together.
