LOL at this message sent out by Arlington County....sounds more like we are getting hit by a nuke than a blizzard:

Arlington County sent out an alert warning residents of an approaching winter storm, "with near blizzard conditions." The alert warned residents to "be prepared to shelter in place for 3 to 5 days."

I heard there used to be this great place for cigars off of Pennsylvania Ave. in the 90's...but the place changed management around Y2k, lost credibility and went all to shit. Good luck with your search.

I didn't really do any grocery shopping this week so my fridge is looking pretty bare. But I decided I'd rather eat boring food than deal with the crowds. Luckily I have plenty of alcohol.

Fuck's sake, I did this starting at 1:30 today. All stores I went to, (Wegmans, Bloom, Walmart), were already sold out of skim milk. Non at any gas station. Then I ran out of time by 4PM. Went back to the stores to finish and I couldn't even get through the parking lot at friggin Wegmans just to get out within 15 minutes. I ended up finishing at Bloom, but I decided I really don't like that store.

This place is nuts.

I'd rather go without sandwiches, chocolate milk and use baby wipes on my ass than to go out and buy the "staples" - even if I was legitimately out of something. For fucks sake, you'll only be "shut in" for about 36 hours. Go to the store on Sunday. What a bunch pussified lemmings.

My local Safeway was completely out of bananas and onions. The produce shelves looked ravaged.

Fuck toilet paper and milk, we we're holing up with bananas. And onions!

Luckily the Pimmit Hills 7-11 had some nice ripe bananas by the coffee station.

I just went to Lowe's for some weekend home improvement projects and it was friggin' nuts. People waiting at the front for them to wheel out the snow shovels and ice melt. I saw people walking out with 2, 3, even 4 snow shovels each (I hope they were buying for others).

** URGENT **

Don't forget these two critical items:

Pet Food
A-1 Sauce

Because if it gets really bad, you can eat your pet.

And A-1 tastes better than catsup.

By the way.... Trader Joe's in Fairfax is out of BEER!!!

I finally decided to try giant this afternoon. It was busy, but well staffed so I didn't have to wait in line. There were several items they were completely out of. Like not only did they not have ground chicken, but they didn't even have ground beef. So no tacos for RES. Overall, a lot of the shelves were picked over but not empty.
