Does Yorktown’s first game against Wilson(DC) count as a recognized opponent?

Thats funny, Too bad the Wildcats will tear right through Madison's sorry defense!

...yeah, the "sorry" defense the held the Purple Pretenders to 7 points (really 0 because fumbles in the end zone count as touchdown)...

...they beat you...

There are trolls on here who are posting and imitating other people. It hurts the players, a great program and it runs our biggest supporters away too. This year has been worse than ever. Lake Braddock and NOVA is known for scandal and cover up so even when there isn’t drama, people will create it. “The most bellicose LB poster...” and “...discord she was sowing” ??? That’s all fake drama being stirred up by some outsider shit starter. Pathetic.

Can we focus back on football and cut out the bull?

1. Centreville (-7) @ Chantilly
- Chantilly wins 31-24. Down year for the Cats, good win for Chantilly.

2. Edison @ Marshall (-14)
- Marshall wins, missed the spread by 1 point... 35-22.

3.Fairfax @ South County (-28)
- SoCo keeps rolling, 44-6.

4. Falls Church (-20) @ Lee
- What is going on with FC? Lee won 17-7. Injuries? Aziz finally lost the locker room? Back to back bad losses in as many weeks...

5. Hayfield (-6) @ Annandale
- Hayfield wins 30-7. 1-8 for the Hawks...

6. Langley (-14) @ Herndon
- Langley wins and covers, 47-20.

7. Oakton @ Madison (-24)
- Madison blanks Oakton 41-0. The Cougars finish the year 2-8, which beats 0-10 I suppose. 10 years ago, they were one of the most feared programs in Virginia...

8. Potomac Falls @ Stone Bridge (-27)
- SB 41-0 over Pot Falls.

9. South Lakes @ Yorktown (-17)
- Yorktown wins and covers, 31-10. Going to be interesting to see how this team fares in the playoffs.

10. T.C. Williams @ Mount Vernon (-6)
- MV rolls over T.C. Final 33-6. T.C. finishes 7-3, which should be good enough to host Virginia's first ever indoor playoff game.

11. Wakefield @ Stuart (-10)
- Wakefield wins 32-21. 4 straight wins for the Warriors, quietly...

12. Washington-Lee @ McLean (-3)
- W&L beat up on McLean, 42-0.

13. Woodson @ Robinson (-7)
- Robinson won, but did not cover. 22-19.

14. West Springfield @ Lake Braddock (-17)
- LB won, but did not cover. 49-35. Shoutout to the Spartans, I don't think many of us saw them sitting at 6-3 right now.

15. Westfield (-21) @ West Potomac
- Bulldogs roll, 41-0.

Rivalry week is upon us! Tons of cross town match-ups this week, many of which I think will be good, close games. Bad teams usually play their rivals close, if you are on the side of the better team, you’d better not come out playing lazy. On the other hand, good teams like to beat up on “the little brother” so to say.

1. Annandale @ Mount Vernon (-35)
- The Atoms have to be mentally defeated after getting blown out by Hayfield. MV rolls.

2. Broad Run @ Stone Bridge (-10)
- Co-Game of the week. The Battle of Ashburn. Two 9-0 teams, this one should be great, for our Loudoun neighbors, or anyone willing to take the drive…

3. Chantilly @ Westfield (-21)
- Bulldogs are going to be too much for Chantilly.

4. Edison (-7) @ Lee
- Franconia Road rivalry game. Lee with 2 straight wins to end the season? It’s possible...

5. Fairfax @ Woodson (-7)
- Battle of Fairfax. Toss up game here. Fairfax might surprise us, even with 5 straight losses looming over them.

6. Herndon @ South Lakes (-28)
- They don’t like each other, at all… Herndon is levels worse than SL.

7. Langley (-7) @ McLean
- McLean bragging rights on the line.

8. Madison (-14) @ Centreville
- Does Cville need a win to make the playoffs?

9. Marshall (-10) @ Wakefield
- 5th straight win coming up for Wakefield? I don’t see it, but I wouldn't be surprised either. Given how well Wakefield has played since the beginning of October.

10. Robinson @ West Springfield (-10)
- Does Robinson need a win to make the playoffs?

11. South County (-7) @ Lake Braddock
- Co-Game of the week. LB has been waiting for this game since the Stallions ended their season with 2 victories over them in 2 consecutive weeks. They better come out ready and execute, SoCo is tough.

12. Stuart (-7) @ Falls Church
- Another historic rivalry game. The Battle for the Bell. Going with JEB in a tight game, given the Jags back to back losses to Lee & Wakefield...

13. West Potomac (-24) @ Hayfield
- Hayfield needs to start looking toward next year, hopefully they’ll be more competitive. Going to be tough playing the same schedule again next year, though.

14. Yorktown (-35) @ Washington-Lee

Did this happen during the season? In college or the NFL, he’d instantly be suspended. Westfield turns and looks the other way?

The VA courts are easily researched for cases by name. Go review the cases to see if the "rumors" are merited or not. Simple really. That should end the question of whether the rumors are true about Noah or not.

If untrue, those that jumped on his head should apologize. If true, jump on the pile and join the team members that broke his leg last playoffs.

Personally, I don't feel it is an issue since this is about high school football and not dumb things teenagers do, including those throwing the stones I would bet. They want him out the way and off the team so that their team can then ascend to the summit and plant their dicks (oops) I mean flag in victory!

At the end of the day, they will all move on to whatever the future brings and Lake Braddock will still be losing football games in November!

Atoms dreadful season comes to a close. Weird to say but they are the best 0-10 team I have seen. Most of games they played close and very hard just needed a lucky bounce of the ball or call of their way. MV is rolling.

LOCO’s game of the week. SB by 7.

Tilly needs to play near perfect, no turnovers and no penalties, they always give Bulldogs their best effort, expect no less in this game. Bulldogs better not take this game lightly. Bulldogs pull away late win by 15.

Blehhh. Edison.

WTW by 10. Rebels are not good, Cavs are just slightly not as bad.

Both programs are bad, SL wins but I think closer score +18.

Blehhh. Saxon’s.

> 8. Madison (-14) @ Centreville

CVHS coming off of 3 straight losses last 2 against cross town rivals. Madison is way too physical for them. Expect MHS to rush for 200yds and pass for 200. Madison wins by 28.

GCM needs win to make playoffs and they should, their consolation prize, Westfield in the first round.

Rams fighting for playoff life. Spartans win and mke playoffs this time unlike past couple of years where they faded down the stretch and missed playoffs.

WPO thoroughly beaten by Bulldogs last week, Hawks coming off their first win. Going with upset, Hawks by 7

YT for real? Will have to wait until playoffs before we found out.

I think you have it about right. Westfield clearly has a more talented team but you can never discount motivation and Chantilly has a lot of veteran players and they are highly motivated. If Westfield lets Chantilly hang around and get some momentum it will be a fight to the finish.

Pretty much called it btw. Although I don't see them going as far as Woodson did.

Chantilly won outright. This counts as three losses. I was wrong on the predicted winner, wrong on the spread, and the biggest loss was more fodder for their loudmouth fans.

Picked the right winner, but missed against the spread by one point.

Correct winner, correct against the spread.

I blew this one on all counts, but anyone who says that they had Lee winning outright and didn't have Marshall covering this spread is an outright liar.

Incorrect here as well. I let my emotions get the better of me here

Correct on both counts.

Correct here as well on both counts. After a dismal 2018 winless season, Oakton started out on the right foot when Fairfax gift-wrapped them a win in the season opener, but it's been downhill since. This loss brings Oakton's dismal season to a conclusion.

Yorktown won and covered. I guess I underestimated Yorktown (or did I overestimate South Lakes?)

Mt. Vernon ended up covering Yugely. SO I got both the winner and against the spread right.

Wakefield won outright. Wrong winner, but correct against the spread.

Blew this one big time. WL may have turned things around (they still won't beat Yorktown, though). McLean's dream season seems to have come back to earth.

I made three predictions for this game, and I only got the winner right. Robo didn't cover, and thanks to Stuart's upset loss, Woodson remains alive for the playoffs (though they need to beat Fairfax and get some help). However, my most important prediction, that Woodson wouldn't win another game this season, remains alive.

Nailed this one as well. Told you the spread wasn't high enough.

High school football in this area is mediocre. How many NFL products has Northern Virginia produced? A few more guys came from Maryland, closer to Baltimore (Dematha, etc.) but Nova high school football is comparable to that in the middle of a third world country.

I hate high spreads and usually pick the underdog when I am getting 35 points. However Mt. Vernon is just too good. Annandale doesn't deserve to be winless (they were a missed two point conversion away from beating Woodson, for example). But they are headed for 0-10. Mt. Vernon wins and covers.

Agree. Westfield wins and covers. I wonder if Westfield doesn't cover, whether Chantilly fans will come on here crowing about moral victories? We'll see.

>

Yuck. Lee (who DOES deserve to be winless) pulls off an upset of Falls Church, making this difficult to predict. I guess I'll go with Edison to win and cover.

>
> 5. Fairfax @ Woodson (-7)
> - Battle of Fairfax. Toss up game here. Fairfax

Not only the battle of Fairfax, but possibly the 8th and final Region C playoff spot is up for grabs. It will take a Robo loss (likely) and a Stuart loss (quite possible), so it could happen. Fairfax has lost five in a row, but I believe Woodson has lost at least four in a row. So that means Fairfax is more "due" for a win. I'm remaining all in on my prediction that Woodson wouldn't win another game this season. Fairfax wins outright, and I'm happy to take 7 points (frankly, I thought the line would be higher, but it doesn't matter).

>
> 6. Herndon @ South Lakes (-28)

They don't like each other, and the rest of us don't like either of them. (Just kidding). Herndon has been awful. South Lakes wins and covers.

>
> 7. Langley (-7) @ McLean
> - McLean bragging rights on the line.

Really don't have any idea, so since McLean is at home and can get to .500 with a win, and since they haven't beaten Langley in seemingly forever, I'll take McLean to win outright.

>
> 8. Madison (-14) @ Centreville
> - Does Cville need a win to make the playoffs?

Madison wins and covers. Considering how badly Madison beat Chantilly, and how Chantilly beat Centreville, this line isn't high enough.

I can see it. I'm looking at trends here, and Marshall, though better on paper, has been trending down, and Wakefield has been trending up. I'm taking Wakefield to win outright.

>
> 10. Robinson @ West Springfield (-10)
> - Does Robinson need a win to make the playoffs?

I was at another game on Friday, but I watched a video feed of the Robo Woodson game, courtesy of Robo's twitter account. I missed most of the first half, but Woodson was up 7-0 at the half, and Woodson scored the first TD of the third, before Robo came roaring back. Woodson had absolute no D Line and couldn't stop ROBO's running game, but Robo's defensive secondary made Woodson's QB look like Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger (prior to his injury) all rolled into one. That's going to be the difference here, as Robo is facing an even better QB. West Springfield wins and covers.

Patriot this year is the big three and the little three, but I think SoCo is the beat of the big three. SoCo wins and covers.

It's hard to figure any of the teams in National. Falls Church should be favored and should win, but how do you pick them to win if they lost to Lee. LEE!?!?! Since Stuart needs a win to secure a playoff berth, but Falls Church has theirs wrapped up, I'll take Stuart to win and cover.

West Potomac could still get into the playoffs with a win and some help (and help will be coming their way from West Springfield). I'll take WestPo to win and cover.

Didn't W-L just beat McLean and Langley, both handily? That tells me they've turned their season around. Yorktown is still too good for them, so I'll take Yorktown to win, but they aren't going to cover a 35 point spread.

And why is that? Answer: Kids from NOVA don't need football as a "way out" of tough circumstances to go to college and get an opportunity in life. Without sports, many of those five star athletes from Dematha and Good Counsel would not go to college.

Teams like SOCO Braddock Hayfield (prior to this season)and Westfield are examples of areas with just enough culture and diversity to consistently compete. They aren’t a team full of white kids nor are they full of ungrateful athletes, there’s a perfect balance. The Madison’s Fairfax and ROBOs just don’t have enough speed to keep up usually.

That is true to a degree. DeMatha’s best player (RB heading to South Carolina) is from Anacostia in SE DC. DeMatha essentially paved the way for this guy to go to college. No way he would’ve done that at Anacostia HS

You have gone far back. Most of these kids are from where? PW county. Some from Fairfax, true, but Fairfax has more than double the population of both PW and Loudon, and yet, PW has more players on this list? Why?

Interestingly, most of the Fairfax players here played over ten years ago for their teams - Grimm, Glennons, Royster, etc. The trend will continue.

One alarming trend I have seen in ten years of attending NOVA football games is how the size of the rosters across the board appears to shrinking. It does appear that fewer kids are participating.

Don’t believe the hype, we’re def not (esp around 1 mediocre player with limited offers). Tilly is equally talented if not more so on Oline, Rb, Dline, LB, WR, TE, DB’s. Tyler is just as good at QB I would argue a much better runner than what Bulldogs have. My boys are ready to dominate the game up front.

No. They just post here. And the only reason they post is to tell everyone Fairfax football sucks, Loudoun football is better, Westfield is overrated, and Class 5 is so much tougher than Class 6. Not much else.

Jared Green - 2006 played with Dallas, Carolina, and Oakland
Trey Watts - 2009 played with the Rams for a few years.
Cody Grimm - 2005 played with tampa until injuries forced him to retire

Other guys who had opportunities were Keith Payne, Jack Tyler, and Chris Coyer. All three had invitations to OTAs or training camp.

The above list doesn’t include players who lived in NoVA but went to school at Gonzaga, DeMatha, or St Johns.

I see why Westfield backs away from Highland Sorings. Google their pictures. Not 1 white kid. That’s why they always kill Stone Bridge. Mickey needs to recruit some DC/MD athletes. HS would beat Westfield 42-7. Freedom is the second closest team, and they’ll also beat Westfield. Probably 35-21.

What YOU obviously do not understand is that most of the reasonable posters here ARE the Westfield fans. Yes, there are a few trolls who try to get the rest of you in an uproar about Westfield (and often succeed) but it is the trolls and a-holes from other wannabees who cause the most problems and post the inflammatory rhetoric. Everyone loves to hate on successful teams.

And as far as 2020 Westfield: Yes, they might "struggle", at least in terms of the success Westfield is used to, but they have enough coming back to win more than enough games to make the playoffs. With a few breaks and player development, next year they could still be a threat to make the region final or state semis. They will absolutely be competitive in the handful of games against the really good teams they will face but won't get blown out by anyone like a lot of the bad teams around here.

LB 13 SC 12.

Neither were very impressive. LB had a good RB and a huge QB. They both played “ok” defense. Tonight’s varsity matchup will be very interesting. I’m not sure why everyone on here is so sure SC is head and shoulders better than LB, outside of last year’s two very close games. LB QB was only a sophomore and he seems to be having an excellent season. #42 and #10 from SC will be a problem for LB defense. It should be a playoff atmosphere if the cold doesn’t deter too many fans.

Hayfield Class of 2008 here.
My junior year (2006) we went 0-10, and senior year (2007)) 1-9. I remember JR year we started off with Westfield, Centreville, Robinson. All 3 were top tier state programs at the time. (We wanted to schedule Oakton, but it didn’t work out and so Centreville took their place.) They all hammered us and we lost hope. I think the same thing happened with this years team. I’m sure administration has changed since I was there, but they need to stop scheduling the best of the best. It’s ridiculous when you can’t compete. We didn’t have very much talent, my SR year we played Marshall & Wakefield. (Lost to Marshall I believe 17-19, and beat Wakefield in the rain) Back then we ran the option, and it just didn’t work. I live in Atlanta now so I have not been able to go to a game, but something is up. Hayfield has been very good for the past decade, and hopefully they can figure this thing out.
PS: this is a very cool forum. Just came across it sitting at work & I needed to chip in.

I think the issue is that Hayfield HAS been reasonably competitive the last 10 years really. There is just a real dramatic drop off since last season where they went 10-2 and won a playoff game.

Their dreams were dashed last season when the lost to Freedom in the playoffs...why would they schedule Freedom for the first game of the season. Got smashed 50-14.

High school football in this area is mediocre. How many NFL products has Northern Virginia produced? A few more guys came from Maryland, closer to Baltimore (Dematha, etc.) but Nova high school football is comparable to that in the middle of a third world country.

Oh, yeah, Billy Bob - pretty mediocre?

Three kids from Ashburn alone were drafted into the NFL last year alone.

You ignorant fuck.

Lmao discussing football makes YOU a man? Then your kid is probably the gay one on the team and your wife is fucking the neighbor who drives the Prius. You bitch. Stop being a punk on the internet. Face it, Hayfield sucks.

I think scheduling 1 or 2 very good teams is fine. Maybe 3 depending on how good ur team is. Hayfield should of kept Edison on the schedule, maybe thrown in a Wakefield/Lee/Herndon so at least the kids win a few.

Don’t take one idiotic fan and he kids word for what the team feels about Westfield. HS kids are dumb. The biggest S talkers are in the stands not on the field.
