I don’t find fault with Oakton’s schemes; they just don’t have the horses. Their interior lines are just not good, and its hard to fault the players for what has been several lost seasons going back to the last years of the Rowley regime. The off-season strength and conditioning program has had to be built from scratch, and when you assume that last year was essentially a lost year, its no wonder why they are behind the eight ball. I feel bad for this years seniors, many of whom have stuck it out. The progress is slow, but things are headed in the right direction.

Who fucking cares about CalPreps Rakings? Might as well have VHSL Reference Rankings up. I'm sure he hasn't updated anything from his preseason predictions. Hitchinson is a stupid ass VT Alumn and is the most extreme communist liberal I've ever heard of!!! Calpreps is just as bad!! Zero onsight on new coaches, transfers, etc.

Mt. Vernon totally dominated Hylton the first game of the season....but lost because Hylton scored 3 touchdowns on a fumble return, a pick six, and a blocked FG return. Hylton played hard and earned the win, but Mt. Vernon dominated the line of scrimmage and would beat them by 4 touchdowns if they played again. I am not sure that Hylton had even 90 yards in offense in the first game of the year.

MV is the second best team in 6C behind South County, and they're definitely good enough to upset SC in the region final if they catch a few breaks. SC is definitely the favorite, though.

Both Calpreps and VHSL use algorithms for their ranking calculations. They just don't use the same formulas/methods. VHSL Ref is actually better in my opinion but they only update once or twice a year and it's only VHSL schools. Neither system is perfect but they are not trash. VHSL Ref pushing their socialist political views is trash however.

Don't count out Madison in Region D. They have improved since the early part of the season. Very solid defense. QB Yates is starting to pile up FCS offers. They are not a team to be taken lightly. It would only take a few things to go right for them win the region.

Centreville sucks! We gonna destroy them tonight. They let a soph rb run all over them with a very mediocre offensive line. Can you image what we gonna do to them. We should have 300+ rushing yards. Pierre, Malcom & Tyler should have 6 rushing tds split amongst them. Gonna be a long night for Wildcats.

So this was a hard fought game with multiple lead changes throughout and the game was not decided until the end. One thing we learned is that win or lose Centreville's #12 will score at least 2 TDs every game. He is just hard to cover consistently and not only that he makes all the catches including a really spectacular one-handed grab in traffic for a big first down in the second half. #8 for Centreville also had a ridiculous one-handed catch in the second half.

Chantilly won the game on two long TD runs by the little guy #1 - 56 and 75 yard dashes in the second half. Centreville defense kept breaking down and when they failed to make the tackles there was no one with enough speed to cover for the mistakes.

Chantilly got a major boost from some really flag-happy refs tonight - they must have nailed Centreville for 6-7 holding calls in the second half while letting everything slide for Chantilly. The disparity in calls and yardage for the game must have been 5:1. The most egregious was the non-call of the flagrant yea textbook pass interference in the end zone. I guess they just were not going to call anything on Chantilly at home on senior night. It kind of cast a pall on the second half of the game really.

Nonetheless Chantilly earned the win. Centreville largely failed to match the intensity and desire to win that Chantilly had. Perhaps they only try that hard when they are playing Westfield.

Beat down of West Springfield tonight, setting up for Friday Night's Smackdown of South County.

This year Lake Braddock is the better team and will win the Patriot District title.

South County has had a good year, but they haven't faced an offense like the Doc's LB's offense. They can put up 50 points and not even sweat. LB wins easily and will be the number 1 seed in the playoffs.
Doc said he was preparing for 15, you people need to listen when the Doc talks!

Come on out and watch the Smackdown!

Could they lose to Chantilly? Yes. Is it likely? No. SoCo is not on the schedule so that would only happen in the state semi-final. But yeah, that looks like it would be a heavyweight match. But both teams would have to get their first.

It will be interesting to see how Westfield fares against the Chantilly run game. Madison totally shut it down. But I don't think the Westfield run defense is as good as Madison's. While it's probably good enough I don't think Westfield will be able to dominate the line like Madison did.

The real sleeper team is.......Yorktown. That’s right Yorktown. They won’t shut you down defensively but their offense puts a lot of pressure on you to keep up with their scoring. They force a lot of mismatches and QB is having a terrific season.

Yorktown is strong. They're a very efficient team. Good ball-control offense and their defense is solid.....much better than in prior years. They could hang with Madison in the second round of the playoffs.

Yes, Yorktown is good. But are they battle tested? Very soft schedule. I think if they meet a team that plays them shot for shot on offense they will fold. (Idk anything about their defense) They have a great QB, though. But playing Herndon & WL doesn’t matter come playoffs.

After watching Tilly C’Ville, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tilly makes it a close game or knocks off Westfield. It looks like they had a different person in at TE this game then vs Madison and this kid looked a lot better blocking, run game looked better, their o-line has also been very special . Secondary got beat consistently against #12 but defense was good down the stretch. this team comes to play it could be a amazing game and a solid playoff run

Westfield is a better tackling team than C’Ville. They won’t break off those big runs.

This LB staff is about having the players behave better in class, not about winning football games.
The staff has more important thing to do rather then winning football games, like updating social media, complaining about the lack of talent, to tough of a schedule and bad seedings in the playoffs.

Ok, is there something wrong with behaving and going to class? Pretty sure they are winning on and off the field.

Plenty of stud Ahole football players that won titles, but are not doing so great in the real world.

Pretty sure Doc wants to win but in the end using football to help mold good people is what all high school football programs are about. If you think different then you don’t get the point of high school athletics.

Doc and his staff are back to posting again!

I wonder what excuses they will have when SoCo beats them and wins the Patriot District?

They will get an easy game in the first round because the Region is terrible, but, if they draw Mt Vernon or SOCo in the second round they will be handing in their equipment.

I think we all know Doc is the best coach in the state

Those boys are disciplined, significant and are held accountable for their actions
They go on to play college football, 10 players from last years team and quite a few this year.

He has been the Patriot District Coach of the Year for 2 straight years. He has taken a program that was a total mess and turned it into the most respected in the state. Who wouldn't want to play for Doc?

It's fine to tout the current coach but to constantly make these baseless smears of the previous coach is both untrue and offensive. You should be ashamed of yourself. We all know it's not true.

The previous regime was old school and that’s not acceptable anymore. It’s okay that you miss the good ole days but they’ve been over for three years now. Let it go. There are no “baseless smears,” just a new and better way. I’d rather my boy play for Doc than anyone else anywhere. He’s that good. He will get even those partying, lying, harassing, JV punks in line before he plays them seriously on varsity. Players meet his standard or they don’t play for him.

I am all for supporting Doc and his new ways, but he also has the talent and depth to hold players to a certain level. Most schools do not get all of the talent Braddock has and if the coach doesn't win, it doesn't matter how well the players behave, the coach gets fired. Sad but true.

Also, if it such a better way, how come Doc cant win in the playoffs?
In 2 years, he is 1-2 and has had more talent then most teams year in and year out (10 players playing in college from last years team)in the region. Now you can say that as long as the players had a good experience in the program, its all good and fine. However, tell the players and parents upfront that his goals are not to win championships, but for the players to have a good experience playing football in our program.

At a large program like Lake Braddock, expectations are much higher, he is hired to maintain a good program, but also to win big games. Maybe those wins will come down the road, but at this time, Doc hasn't lived up to expectations.

I wish whoever the shill poster pumping LB would stop. Note: It may be one of our own, but then again, it may be someone outside the fold agitating just to make us unlikable and annoying. The most bellicose LB poster has since been muzzled and is no longer front-running after she realized the discord she was sowing.

The Doctors and lawyers most likely the kids that needed no guidance, no help needed with behavior in the classrooms. Those kids are easy to coach. How many kids did Coach P let slide and let be not so great to staff and other students. I get it, you are a Coach P friend or supporter. I’m not against him. But you can’t throw the easiest kids out there that parents already had on track to be highly successful.

No, you dont get it, the would be doctors, lawyers and successful businessmen were the kids that needed Ps guidance, that's why they are what they are today. Those were the difficult kids. Without his guidance, who knows where they would be. Ask anyone who played for him, Coach P never gave up on any kid, he believed everyone should get a second chance that earned it. He would always have their back.

As far as teachers and behavior in classrooms, why would a football coach police someone else's classroom? Isn't that up to the teacher? the administration?

For the Doc supporters, P has always supported Doc and has nothing but good things to say about him.

All this really doesn't matter, judge coach P by the success his former players have achieved in the real world. At the end of the day, that's what really matters.

Only allowed 14 against MTV. Vernon is averaging over 35 points a game. MTV and langley are the only teams to score in the second half too (langley scored on a lucky deep pass where the DB fell down. Yorktown’s defense is legit and youll see in the playoffs.

I hope this story is not true. I have watched Noah sling the rock against Oakton for three years now. Wish him the best. He is a smart player and has a good arm. I do worry about him playing Big Ten football given his slight size, but I will be rooting for him.

There's a very real chance that YT and JM end up tied for 2 after this week. If so, I think it goes all the way to tiebreaker E, where Yorktown will be 9-1 vs Madison's 7-3.
