Madison has not beaten WF so until they do they take a back seat of them.

C’ville is not losing to SL. SL is terrible! You are retarded if you think SL beats Cville and then WF couldn’t.

Chantilly, what the fuck have they done or shown they can beat WF other than having a meathead coach that drinks too much Red Bull and only cares about beating WF, too bad he doesn’t put that same effort into winning every other game that he does for WF.

WF will not be as dominant as they have been past 3 seasons but until someone knocks them off I am not counting them out.

Mitch Griffis from Broad Run is 10X better than that kid from Yorktown.

Not even close.

Yorktown plays some of the worst teams in the state.

Here are the best quarterbacks in Northern Virginia in my opinion right
1: Edwards from LB
2: griffis from Broad run
3: Kim from westfield
4: wiles from stone bridge
5: Wilson from Yorktown
6: Soper from hayfield
7: musket from wshs

This list isn’t based on team success it’s based on individual talent. I’ve been coaching QBs awhile, I’ve seen all of them throw at nike camps, that’s my list. If you wanted to list by “greatness” including team success, switch 1 and 3

Go back and read the HSF threads for the past 4 years. It's always the same thing: Westfield will not be as good as last year. And every year, they are. When are chumps going to learn. It's not the players - it's the coach and the system. And with Kim coming back as QB, the sky's the limit - just like every year. Can Westfield suck this year? Sure. Chances <5%. They have at least a 50% chance of repeating as 6A regional champs and playing for another state title.

I think Rogers is really talented. His throwing motion concerns me at the next level due to the hitch in his back stroke. If he figures that out he’s top 10

I’m not a qb coach but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. Why are you hyping up this kid that has accomplished nothing, must be Bruin staff or his family member. Kid is a decent Hs qb but that’s it. Not special. Low completion rate and too many turnovers. In head to head match up with WF last year, he had several int and bad passes and got blown out, don’t count the 3rd and 4th qtr stats padding, WF had pulled most starters by then and I think WF qb had 5 TD passes in 2-1/2 qtr of work.

Griffis, sorry but a poor mans version of Justin Allen. Time for him to step and win a game didn’t produce in playoffs.

SoCo, Madison & Chantilly a better qb than those 2.

Obviously you are entitled to your opinion, but that is my opinion having Coach QBs as long as I have them for having coached football in general for as long as I have.. Edwards will be a multiple fbs offer kid. Griffis is better than Justin Allen. Allen was very good, griffis is better

Last year, most people had the sense that Westfield would have problems with their OL /DL. The Bulldogs adjusted by moving their talent to bolster the defense. But as PREDICTED, the OL proved to be their weakness. Simmon's coaching staff pulled out a great year with a lot of difficulties which they successfully overcame. But, Spring camps don't seem to be providing any top tier talent to this point for their 2019 season. The Bulldogs will be well coached but they're coming back from their recent Glory days for sure.

The kid from Woodson Joe Pesanski rising junior legit 6'4 195 very strong arm and can make all the throws. He lead Woodson to an 11-2 record last year. I think he is just starting on the camp circuit, so a lot people dont know who he is, but they will this season. I saw him play SL and Woodbridge Freedom last year and played very well against both. He doesn't have the weapons at Woodson that some of these others have, but he does make players around him better.

I will weight in on the best QBs in NOVA, I am not like the LB people on here, I have no dog in the fight. I have not seen all of the QB in the area yet, so I will base this only on who I have seen.

Edwards, LB and Kim, Westfield are the top 2:

Edwards did struggle with the better teams, but he was just a sophomore last year. He has the talent and some of the best talent in the region around him

Kim has the luxury of playing on the best team in the area and does get the benefit of the Westfield system. Some of the best RBs in the state. But hard to argue with what he has done

Best of the rest:
Pasansky Woodson, sleeper, throws a good ball, he lead Woodson to their best record in a decade.
Wiles from SB is a runner, I dont think he throws well enough for the next level
Soper Hayfield, a decent HS QB, nothing special doesn't have the size either
Griffis BR haven't seen him play
Muskett WS very good fundamentally sound, just no help around him

Kim WF won states his Soph year. Edwards, knocked out by SoCo first rd. 28-1 as a starter. Edwards 7-4. Kim’s stats head and shoulders above Edwards all done while he played 3 qtrs of football because they had a running clock and starters got pulled early. Head to head WF blew out LB last year. Kim 5 TD passes in 21/2 qtrs. Edwards more ints than TD passes against starters. It’s not even close. Stop it’s Kim and then everyone else battling for 2nd.
If u ain’t first you’re last- Ricky Bobby.

All I know is Doc and staff are churning out the D1 player over at LB.
He had 4-5 last year go D1. This year he may have as many 5-6.

That my fellow board member is why LB has the best staff in the state.

Best staff?!! They got bounced first round retard, just because you can blow some college coaches off doesn’t mean you’re the best HS coach in the state.

Why can’t LB win when they have all that talent & the “best staff” in the state? Pls enlighten us, seriously want to know. You claim to have best qb & wr’s what happened during games against WF & Stone Bridge, why’d you get blown out?

LB places no more students at the next level than any other school, truth! But say you al do as you claim, then why do you all suck so bad when you have elite level talent and a superior coaching staff?

All honesty, last time guy had site talent was Lamont Atkins, Caleb Henderson and the TE Parks kid. Billy Edwards is no Caleb, not even close.

Winning football games come playoff time determines the value of the coaching staff, not how many players go on to college. The individual player if good enough, will move on to the next level regardless of how poorly or well they are coached. In the case of LB, it is definitely not how well they are coached.

A good coaching staff enables the players to perform at their best and elevate the entire team to win games. Taking non D1 talent and enabling them to perform at a high level, winning games both during the season and especially in the playoffs, provides the yardstick upon which a coaching staff should be judged.

Further, as previously pointed out, a good coaching staff never allows the team to quit, regardless of the score. LB quit during a few games last year, notably to SB in a game which can best be labeled a no show by LB. I don't know how anyone could consider the LB staff even an adequate one given that blowout.

Back to the fixation with D1 talent, how can the coaching staff with exceptional talent of that nature continue to trip in the playoffs? If anything, the talent should have seen the team get a deep run into the playoffs. Rarely has LB shown any ability to step up to the line and win playoff games since the arrival of the current coaching staff. Lots of bluster but no foundation.

I guarantee that other programs in the area continue to applaud the support the LB coaching staff has received from the community. After all, as long as this staff continues to lead LB they will continue to underachieve where it counts, in the playoffs. With the level of talent on the field, this team should be striving to take the region and vie for State titles. As that has not happened, the only course of action is to look at the coaching staff and their ability to adjust during the game and come off the field with another win. So far the other coaching staff has been the one to make the necessary adjustments and get the win in the playoffs.

I wonder how long Doc and company will keep their jobs at LB once the community realizes that something smells pretty awful in crunch time. As Sean Connery once said: "Losers whine and mope while the winners go home and #%^@ the prom queen!" So far all I have seen is a lot of playoff losses followed up by whining about how great the players and the coaching staff is! Funny thing though, it doesn't seem to be taking hold anywhere outside the LB community!

You really think Westfield is going 10-0? Not a chance. This year is different. There actually is a big dropp off in talent at nearly every position. There's not one position where they are better than last year and most are worse including coaching.

Also how is westpo getting to 7 wins? oakton could have given them a game at the end of the year.

Westpo is returning 18 starters out of 22, including their d1 QB who was hurt last year. Hayfield was you g last year. I think they steal wins vs braddock and Robo and maybe even sick. KLM, doc has not said this is his best team, don’t put words in his mouth just to support. As for the WR doubters, I was one for a long time, until they aren’t the best, they’re the best. This is hs thread. No one cares about washed up wr that can’t cut it in FBs so has to drop down to fcs. WV is in the big 12 where there is no defense played how much easier does he need it, flag? Or play WF every week?

I am actually surprised that someone paid $15 million after being terminated would see the need to seek a high school coaching job. Guilty or not, I would be too embarassed to do this. And, you can't help but think that he does not need the money. Anyway i earn some money from free sports predictions after reading their free predictions news.

Because there no real rules in Loudoun County. Anyone can transfer to any school for any reason as long as the principal allows it. That's really the bottom line.

I think everyone is in agreement that Docs Bruins are going to run the table this year, all the way to the state championship.

The high power and high energy offensive will be lead by the highly recruited QB and TE.

The defense has added a few new coaches which only solidifies how strong and powerful it will be.

Look out people there is going to be a new sheriff in town and his name is Doc!

How is the program as solid as ever? Dont masked it with the players are well behaved. That's just a lame!

They have won 1 playoff game in 2 years and have had some of the best talent in the region. They had 5 D1 players last year and couldn't win a playoff game. At no time in the past 10 years has LB had as much talent as Doc has had in his 2 years in the program. When Centreville had 4-5 D1 players a few years ago, they won the state title. Prior to Doc coming to LB, they always had a deep playoff run, they may not have won a state title, but they sure played much better then 1 and done like Docs teams. The football coach is sub par and everyone knows it!!

Doc is average at best.

Coach P was outstanding.

As stated before, Doc's incoming talent will now start to go down with the downfall of BRYC. five years ago the fielded an American team at every level. Last year???? How many team won or made playoffs? They were average in Central at most levels. The 155 lb team was 2-7. There only American team did well because he is the only remaining quality coach and he recruits from other clubs.

Mostly correct, as moving into a school's zone is the main requirement for attendance. However, a student may attend a school outside the zone determined by their residence if they have a parent working at the school they want to attend.

Chargers have an outstanding chance this year, CC is on the come up and WF is trending down. CC has major D1 level talent, more than WF does for class of 2020. Takes more than 1 D1 commit to win a game. There is no one at WF with the speed to catch Pierre on the outside and power to stop Tyler up the middle. Calling it 24-17 and the NEW CONCORDE DISTRICT CHAMPIONS FOR 2020, your Chantilly Chargers! In Curry we trust.

**Well, when you make the state semis or finals for 5-6 years in a row, any finish less than that is "trending down". Ok, I will give you that one. But what WF brings this year will be a bunch of unproven potential led by the best QB in the area and a solid, experienced RB. We will see how far "down" they go.

CC has major D1 level talent, more than WF does for class of 2020. Takes more than 1 D1 commit to win a game.
** Still does not mean CHS is a better team.

There is no one at WF with the speed to catch Pierre on the outside....
** He has to GET to the outside first. That all comes down to fundamentals and scheme.

...and power to stop Tyler up the middle.
** Again, scheme. Sound defensive fundamentals go a long way towards stopping a good player. And this contradicts what you said above, about getting a win takes more than just a good player or two.

And BTW, there zero chance CHS wins the Concorde. Zero.

He's only a been a head coach for 4 years. With less than ideal situations at either school. This year is his chance to prove he is up to the job.

This will be by far be his best collection of talent. I think he makes playoffs and finishes no worse than 3rd in district. The team will be experienced as the rising seniors all got significant playing time as sophomores which has made them quite battle tested and experienced in all the right positions. RB is fastest kid in region. Qb is solid tough runner, if he’s improved on his throwing that’s a huge plus. O-line is solid, good size and one of them has P5 offer. Wr is a question mark, too many dropped passes last year. Defensively, again good up front, Lb need to be more physical and better tackling, have another kid who’s getting some offers so they have the talent there. Db’s have speed. 7-3 regular season.

Curry has gotten kids to come out and but in to what he is doing. They will be a problem in the coming years. New King’s of the Concorde, watch this and next season they will be the dominant team.

The Lb is def a dawg. Reminds me of WF’s LB this past season, got a lot of offers late in the season (Eujean Assantte) Carlex could definitely have that kind of season. Where did the Eujeane end up signing?

Why do so many VA kids sign out of State? Very simple, the State Schools all think they are top 10 Power Brokers, they want to chase the ESPN TOP 300, as opposed to being realistic with their Place in the Hierarchy of Big Boy Football, they squander opportunities early in the process and try to play catch-up after Many Quality Va Athletes have already committed to Schools that valued those Athletes for the entire package they bring not some Star Rating!

Footbal particularly NVA is currently better than it has been, past 30yrs ago but what happened between now and then is that the kids who got recruited didn’t do to well and have NOvA athletes a bad rep (being soft suburban spoiled rich kids) that has taken a while to get rid of that rep.

If you are referring to parity by saying "currently better than it has been", you are correct. But the top level teams and the competition among those elite teams is not quite the same as it was in the early to mid 2000's.

There were some pretty good teams at this tournament, its still not real football, but it gets the skill players some work.

BR
SB
Woodson
LB
Centreville
South Lakes
Colonial Forge
Woodbridge
West Potomac
Yorktown
Roosevelt from DC
Riverside

Football is not about how many D1 recruits your team has. It is about having the right players who can mesh together and fight through adversity together. A team can have zero recruits and still win 5a or 6a states

Missing some Big Dogs that will have a claim in the 6A Finals. So, I'd say given the list of teams, this the final 4 was kind of predictable. Except for Colonial Forge!!! Their QB had to be out or something like that for them to get booted early!!

Their QB played, he just wasn’t very good. Also you’re giving Woodson too much credit. Yorktown was far better than Woodson in the passing league (yes I know it’s not real football) wtw lost to broad run like 38-0 or something

My point is that without Madison, Westfield, Freedom, and South County,,, for the 6A Teams most of the favorites weren't involved. Broad Run & Stone Bridge should have been in the finals. The real surprise was the weak CF team. Their loss of their seniors @ those receiver positions must have hurt them pretty bad.

Yes you did, you said Yorktown was far better than Woodson, before you dog the guy, you read it again!

So you are saying, LB played bad so that's why Woodson beat them, Did Centreville play bad against Woodson too? Woodson beat Centreville and Yorktown lost to them. Yorktown lost to 2 teams that Woodson beat, so why do you think Yorktown is better? Are you just being loyal to your team?
Maybe Yorktown is not as good as you think and maybe Woodson is better than you think.

Woodson may not have the athletes some of the other teams in the region has, but they do get the most out of what they do have.

They are always the underdog, so yes, I will be rooting for them this year

Yorktown
South Lakes
West po

Wins and losses aside. Yes I know centreville and braddock lost to Woodson. Both teams played badly against Woodson. Later in the day, if they had rematches, both teams would have beat Woodson. You can say whatever you want, but that’s the opinion of someone who was there. You can root for Woodson all season, they’ll be 6-4 with losses to braddock, Westfield, soco, and Robo

So both teams played badly against Woodson.....really! that's all you have! What does that tell you, maybe Woodson is better then you think! BTW they did play Centreville later in the day.

All I am saying is give Woodson some credit, like I said before, they have less talent then the other teams, but yet some how find away to compete with them

As far as the record this year, I would say 7-3 8-2, they will beat Robinson and have played SoCo very well the past 2 years. Westfield will be tough, LB could go either way.

While they are certainly a underdog in the region, I think they are a much better team then given credit for.

WTW needs to beat LB to establish their program in the Patriot as the top dog, otherwise just a pretender. Should be a good game both have capable Qb’s but Bruins TE is someone WTW does not have on their sidelines.

Chantilly better have a monster run game this year cuz they still can’t pass or catch. Noodle arms and cement shoes. 3-7.

WTW has had teams just as good in the past and they haven’t been able to follow it up. They haven’t even been able to stay average. This new coach has an easy schedule to be able to follow up their great season with another good one. If they can do that they may be able to stay up there for awhile. I have my doubts about this HC. He tried to leave this off-season and he lost his DC. Seems to me that everyone felt it was time to jump off the ship.

I was also there on Saturday, for as much as people shit on the Falls Church coach on here, he does seem to run the best 7on7 tourney in the area.

WTW new DC is from LB, Doc’s staff so you know you got a good one. Only a Doc protege could take Doc down. Wish him well but Bruins still have the best staff in the state! Make way for the Bruin Express coming through!
