WTF are they building on West Ox Rd across the street from the FFX County animal shelter? All the trees taken down, the church building demolished, fences put up, no indication on what is being built, etc. Fuckin FFX county allowing more development without any advance notice. We don't need more low income housing, strip malls, town homes, apartments? WTF?

Winchester Homes has purchased the property. 70 single family homes will be built on that corner. The church will be moving to another location down off the Fairfax County Parkway.

Since they are single family homes, I'm sure the prices will start in the upper $900,000 range. The same builder is placing homes off of Stringfellow Road of a side road that backs up to Rt. 66 and those homes are in the upper $900,000 range.

Nearby, I see they're clearing lots of the trees at the 50/66 interchange. Anyone know why?

I'm 100% certain regarding the 70 single family homes at that site. They're doing it in a few phases. I believe the church needs to finish the new facility, then they'll make the move and then the old church will be demolished and the building will continue.

As to the clearing for 66/50, I'm sure it has to do with the I-66 expansion project. Please see: http://transform66.org/

As for the houses off West Ox, makes more sense with the church property included (which you did mention but I somehow didn't mentally include the acreage before).

O good, more houses. Just what we need. Remember when Post Forest didn't even cut through to West Ox? Now it's a major thoroughfare.

Definitely more area there than I remembered! It also shows the building that was on the corner there before. When I saw the empty lot I knew *something* had been there but couldn't remember.

Sorry dude, but you're 100% wrong. There are 188 townhouses due to be built at that site. The church will remain during Phase 1 of the project and will be razed when Phase 1 is nearly complete. Welcome to yet more road congestion!

I've eliminated about 95% of road congestion problems from my life. If I drive at all, I do it outside of normal rush-hour times. Easy-peasy. Anybody can do it. If you are stuck in traffic every day, it's because you brought it on yourself.
