not even markings on the pillars - bland they blend in to the scenery. if a car hits a pillar it could mean disaster. built on a budget: some floor joists are held on the side of pillars instead of on the pillar by "extension" - not exactly redundant

pipes - you can see huge diameter metal pipes suspended by the minimum number of allowed brackets (in the picture the pipe is tiny and has higher than the required suspension)

lights don't highlight anything they are set to provide a blanket blend-in cover

I know for a fact in many of these if a car is moving over head you can feel vibration it in your toes - which is normal.

However there's a "famous" (infamous) parking garage, which fx co gov "permits" despite un-easy calls from at least several citizens ...

the whole floor pushes you up and down if the car coming down from floors above does just the right speed and breaking - it feels more ominous than an earth-quake as it's in slow motion. the power of the motion runs through your bones as your pushed up and suddenly have no weight under your feed: you know something huge is moving beneath you significantly

designers said "that's normal"

HERE'S A TRICKY ONE

carefully note:

* there are no "parking stops"

* they make a full space coinciding with a pole where there isn't safe room for a full space because it ends early right on the pillar

the space in front of pole could be reserved for handicap outs, motorcycle, or other uses. instead they thoughtlessly "fit the space right against the pillar". poor planning - often also un-necessary.

(also note the spaces are laid out for rice burners (small toyota) and a truck would need 2 spaces and to drive on top of any "floor stops" but get a ticket for doing so)

meaning: not "parking stops" near polls to even warn driver they are too close

the garage above has a white ceiling - but the "bland" lots in fx co don't even have that distinction

there are endless kinds of barrier schemes, including simple paint

you can't encase a pole 1/2" from the edge of a concrete block especially not a hollow metal one. it will crack the block and also won't do it's job.
