Well, we now know that the current Fairfax county executive is even more pathetic in his decision making than the previous executive and the board of supervisors continue to make inadequate decisions. I'm referring to weather closures and delays. While last weeks snow and ice storm was minuscule at best, we all know that the non-native residents of the DC metro area cant drive in inclement weather. For this reason, weather closures and delays are necessary for driver and pedestrian safety in even the most minor winter weather. The Fairfax County Executive and Board Of Supervisors ignored this well known fact during last weeks storm. They recklessly endangered the lives of Residents and employees of the county by FAILING to close the county government or offer Unscheduled leave to employees even though all surrounding counties, cities and the Federal Government did take these steps. Even after the county roads became littered with serious and even fatal crashes, they still FAILED to wise up and follow everyone else lead. Maybe they will wise up and get it right next time, but probably NOT.

LOL They dont care about resident or employee safety, only concerned about making money They dont care if you live or die, just keep paying their salaries. If the weather is inconvenient they just stay home and steal their salary from the tax pool anyway.

True. The FCPS is their own governing body and the make their own operational decisions. They also receive 52% of the tax revenue from the Fairfax County residents. The FCPS needs to be more accountable for this money and allow more thorough audits, but I feel this topic is something best discussed in its own thread.

Fairfax County government has usually been far less willing to shut down during inclement weather than the School System. It usually takes really bad weather before they shut the courthouse down. I am surprised though that there wasn't some kind of authorized leave because when I was there fewer county employees were there than normal. Perhaps it was done on an office by office basis.

The courts don't have to be sure that 180,000 students are able to move around safely twice each day.

Fx Co Gov took DNC's stance that it is government's job to borrow money until there are threats to borrow no more, that the MONEY is governments job to become rich gov workers and build housing for illegal aliens - built by illegal aliens.
