We have lots of regular FFs making over $200k a year here. Not a bad considering they couldn't even stop their own firehouse from burning down.

Firefighters,Cops and teacher unions can't stop telling us how wonderful they are.
While all perform a necessary function, they hardly need unions to "protect and serve" their interests.
Every possible benefit with it's resulting cost to the taxpayers is exploited.
Then after a career of bleeding us all dry, we get to pay out a pension that far exceeds what the average person can expect.
It's hard to see how this ongoing scam can be corrected however.

Honestly, I have no idea where in the rank Captains in the LAFD sit, but if it's high, that doesn't sound like an unreasonable regular pay. Given LA has a annual fire season, where there are sometimes massive fires like the one that is currently raging, that overtime number doesn't look that unreasonable, either; those guys sometimes work around the clock for days at a time during a major wildfire.

Pigs, on the other hand, have no excuse for their abuse of overtime. It's not like they actually do anything; showing up after a crime has occurred, taking a "statement" and writing a "report," and then never solving the crime hardly warrants overtime pay. If you want to get really, really angry, look up the closure rates for assault, property crime, etc. - it's absolutely disgusting that we tolerate that sort of incompetence in such a critically important job.

We will listen to your tears when you push your fat ass away from your desk and work harder then just trying to stay awake for 8 hours.

No not all unreasonable to make 3 times more then the Commandant of the US Marine Corps or the Chief of The Joint Chiefs of Staff with a bigger pension for a fire captain as well. 4 times the pay of a Fairfax County police or fire capt.

Military pay is supplemented by benefits like housing, PX, and many more in addition to their pay. Do you think the Commandant pays for ANYTHING? Free food, free housing, free transportation (and airfare), uniform allowance, etc., etc., etc.

As for what Fairfax pays its pigs and FD, again, are the ranks in LA and FFX the same?
