The sharp increase in hate crimes in 2017 came even as overall violent crime in America fell slightly, and even though many jurisdictions still refuse to report hate crimes at all. About three out of every five hate crimes targeted the victims race or ethnicity, while about one out of five targeted their religion.

Actually hate crimes are up because instead of just being an American Citizen, everyone is a hyphenated American and expects special status. Thus, the pandering politicians come up with bullshit designations for things that are already crimes. Murder is murder, Assault is a assault. Its 2018, stop beating the victim drum. The severity of the punishment should be meted out in court.

If you look at the FBI stats, you find that whites, who make up 67% of the population, commit 50% of the hate crimes. Blacks, who make up 13% of the population, commit 21% of the hate crimes. Whites under perform by 50/67 = .75 while blacks over perform by 21/13 = 1.62. Blacks are 1.62/.75 = 2.16 times more likely to commit a hate crime than whites. Blacks did NOT support Trump. It's not Trump's fault.
