I don't get it. Metro Transit Police know the license plate, know the vehicle, and got perfect video evidence, yet they somehow need John Q. public to help ID these guys.

Thieves Ram ATM at Metro Station, Pack It Into Bed of Stolen Pickup, Officials Say

Five suspects in a heavy-duty pickup rammed into the machine at the Vienna station and dislodged it about 1:30 a.m. Monday, a Metro spokesman said. The thieves then lifted the machine onto the truck bed and drove off.

Police described the suspects' vehicle as a stolen white Ford F-250 with the Virginia license plate UA13-483 and a "Don't Tread On Me" sticker on the rear window. The truck also has damage to the rear bumper and passenger side wheel trim.

Authorities released images of the suspects' vehicle late Monday morning.

They are asking for help with identifying the thieves.

Where was the ATM at the Metro station?

Dead center of the pedestrian bridge, just outside the metal gates before you get to the farecard machines.

Guess they thought Metro shuts down its cameras too when it shuts down the station.

An F-250 sells for about $40K on the low end to $80K on the high end. Those mountain boys must be making some decent money.

Actually, black thieves have pulled off this a couple of times in DC. They've hit the CVS on 12th & Newton, NE in DC a couple of times. They drove a van right through the 2 glass doors and dragged the cash machine out of the place.
