Cost to taxpayer is roughly four hundred dollars per day.


Benefit taxpayers received for this is nothing more than being robbed of hard earned money confiscated by the IRS.


Anyone ever visit the IRS ( The nations tax revenue receiving institution ) in New Carrolton? I did not think so. In year 1999, over six thousand FEDs worked there......less than 10 percent of them actually perform any work.

We could remove half of the Federal Workforce and not notice any measurable difference in performance.

The abuse of the system is so deeply ingrained it would take decades to resolve the issue. At least there are a few that have exposed the dismal performance of the Veterans Administration but, the USDA, IRS, Commerce, Intel, Justice Department and even the Military is just chock full of low performing/non-performing ingrates that could not hold a job in the private sector for more than a week.

Those that seem to suggest that becoming a FED is something only a small percentage of the population could qualify for is just nonsense. The FED workforce is full of cronyism and a system that hires not the best qualified - rather hiring is mostly based on which ethnic box is checked. Those are just the facts. The truth.

Not quite right. There is a reason why the 80/20 rule has existed and thrived for decades. It is because 80 percent of the work is done in the Federal government by 20 percent of the employees.

That’s not at all where the 80/20 rule came from or was about.

Work done at the federal level is so often orders of magnitude above typical private sector time-wasting exercises in terms of complexity, challenge, impact, and responsibility. This is why the best and the brightest are so drawn to Washington, DC.

Contractors at federal sites surf the internet as much as the feds do. The only people I know who actually work a lot are those who work for themselves.

Most people I know that came out of the military are "disabled" they get life long disbility payments on top of various other benefits. Keep in mind they never saw any action.

If the hypothetical person has 27 years and started right out of college, he would be about 49 and couldn't retire for 8 more years. He would collect soc sec until 5 years after that. So that retirement benefit is a long way off.

The old system under CSRS was indeed better. But most people just park their TSP cash in one fund or another, so that's better than trying to play day-trader, Things should work out okay for most of them anyway.
