Fading star power of Obama draws only 750 people for kickoff rally of his election campaigning

Gone are the heady days when Barack Obama could fill a stadium with his followers. Like a former sitcom star now doing dinner theater performances, he is self-relegated to lesser venues and smaller crowds. On Saturday, at what Think Progress (house organ of the left-wing Center for American Progress) called "his first campaign stop of the midterm elections," only 750 people (T.P.'s estimate) turned out at the Anaheim Convention Center to partake of the Barack experience.

Speaking of aging sit-com stars, Heston aged into the aether a decade ago. Obama of course started his tour in Orange County -- aka, enemy territory. He probably won't flip them blue, but it creates a stark contrast to Trump's pattern of endless cowardly grandstanding to "the base."

How was the event standing room only? It was in the Anaheim convention center. Certainly, a place capable of holding many more than 750 people. You're making this sound like it was exclusive, when in fact, Obama is finally realizing that he just isn't as popular as he thought he was.

Out of the 750 people, 50 used public transportation to get there, 200 drove in their Toyota Prius cars and 500 drove in their Subaru's.

Orange County is hugely populated and part of the Los Angeles metro area. Obama should have had a much bigger crowd but most people know he's a fraud now.

As the nation has gotten smarter, the GOP has gotten dumber. In other words, it is more and more the case in America that more-intelligent people are more likely to say they are liberal. They are also less likely to say they go to religious services. Meanwhile, a British team has found that kids with higher intelligence scores were more likely to grow into adults who vote for Liberal Democrats, even after controlling for socioeconomics. These ar not really surprising results since smarter people are more willing to espouse "evolutionarily novel" values. That is, values that did not exist in the antiquity of our ancestral environment when as primitives, we had to hunt to feed our own clan and our only real technology was fire.
