Hurricane Florence: is it Fake News like the hurricane Terry McAuliffe declared early

The important thing in this image is you can clearly see how unlikely it is weather people know where it goes and at what strength it may be when it gets there.

Despite this "issue", the action was given a name Florence and Democrat governor of virginia Ralph Northham declared Virginia is in a State of Emergency.

Did Northham declare a State of Emergency to grab at locked tax funds? Many think so. Is that illegal? Very much so.

Terry McAuliffe declared a State of Emergency on a Hurricane that was predicted to fall on land outside of Virginia and come north.

It's unheard of for a Hurricane to hit land in one state and cause any significant damage in another (unless the hurricane doesn't go inland; unless it runs along coast / beaches).

Many thought McAuliffe lied to get to tax funds. McAuliffe was bankrupt, moved to VA after bankruptcy, and is now horking money in a gov job: at a VA gov school teaching.

Carolinas, Virginia brace for ‘dangerous’ Hurricane Florence as storm churns toward East Coast

https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2018/09/09/carolinas-virginia-brace-massive-storm-florence-churns-toward-east-coast/?utm_term=.319ebae1ab72

"“Pretend, presume and assume that a major hurricane is going to hit"

and gov Northham is a great pretender?

(UK news: hurricane "expected to pick up strength"), however historically such a prediction often fails, we are roughly a week of from landfall

---------------------------

declaring a state of emergency a week ahead?

for those who can't remember: terry mcauliffe declared a state of emergency on a hurricane that didn't even enter our state !!

it's not just that. there's the "salting the roads" scandals. both bribery involved in doing

it's the whole picture - of government is trusted and then the trust turns to abuses - when democrats are involved it appears

Because the whole concept of “emergency preparedness” relies on being prepared BEFORE an event takes place. The same reason you put your seatbelt on when you get in the car, not just when you see an accident about to happen. You need to have things in place in ADVANCE if you want to be prepared.

All of the same "urgency hype" was heard when Terry McAuliffe claimed EMERGENCY and it didn't even get in Virginia. It also didn't do much of any damage in Carolina's. They claimed it would be category 4. When it hit land it was a weak 3 if that (3 including "puffery" for insurance and government rip-off reasons).

ONCE YOU LIE YOUR FUCKING DONE. NO REASON FOR ANYONE TO TRUST YOU AFTER THAT

you see in the picture there are two systems heading for the east cost - though news is very dodgey speaking of it

-----------------------

#1 Carolinas always get serious storms (so does VA, but inland in fairfax the damage is pretty much limited to power outages, a few trees, and wet basements)

so telling carolina to "get ready" is good for instructing millenials, but any older carolina or norfolk virginian: already knows

--------------------

PROBLEMS:

THE FAKE NEWS FACTORS:

* the fake news event last time was created by predicting storm strength a week out at sea, telling everyone it would get more massive. it didn't get stronger it got WEAKER. they swore on the bible it was serious and they weren't kidding. it was just another government rip-off as usual.

* we don't have hot weather and we're cloudy and cooler. also another storm system appears to be heading directly north. these will increase pressure along the coast - PERHAPS (i'm totally un-educated in weather) keeping Florence at bay lessening the maximum prediction.

if there's a weather rules that says two storm systems in opposite directions combine to make a bigger storm, or that cooler wet/fog cost makes hurricanes more powerful, let me know

until then i'll assume the prediction could be tainted

You have to have great respect for "WEATHER OLOGISTS" (meaning military and noaa, not local ones that parrot the weather news feeds). The math is hard.

http://www.southalabama.edu/colleges/artsandsci/earthsci/meteorology/metcurriculum.html

hard but for a BS, much lighter than http://farside.ph.utexas.edu/teaching/jk1/lectures/Electromagnetism.html (graduate - the same professors does offer associate level courses such as you'd find at NVCC)

-------------------------

However. The idea "SCIENCE NEVER GOUGES THE PUBLIC FUNDS" is provably wrong.

Many "sciences" end up gouging the taxpayer in a CONTINUAL manner by practices that seek funding. An example is NASA's now continual flights to all planets and asteroids added to the fact France, Japan, China, UK, others are all doing the same.

The idea of scientists in 2018 tell it like it is without any ties to funding? %100 proven wrong.

Forecast sees DC area dodging Florence deluge
After it makes landfall in the Carolinas on Thursday, Hurricane Florence will bring what one forecaster called “potentially catastrophic” rainfall totals. But around D.C., forecasts see only an inch or two of rain through Tuesday — far less than what had been forecast. Here’s the latest.

we all know about hurricane season and the effect of heavy rain.

However: that is not "a state of emergency" requiring EXTRA tax money not usually available.

"emergency funding" was meant to be for something that CAUSED damage.

allowing politicians to create pseudo emergencies and spend horrific ammounts of money on mere statistical chances is merely mob activity

on the other hand: preparedness (ie, that the power company has staff available to fix power lines during inevitable hurricane season storms) is simply "DUH" expected

------------------------

the topic here isn't "ignoring all hurricanes" as government workers would like to spin it to

the topic here is if florence ever posed a credible threat TO VIRGINIA in an unusual manner - specifically the parts of virginia SPENDING MONEY about it (ie: not including Norfolk which should be prepared, big storms are "normal" there)

remember the Virginia claimed "emergency funds" when this storm was MORE THAN A WEEK OFF, but that hurricanes can go from cat 4 to cat 2 in the space of a day or two

during reagan "emergency snow removal" was not "a state of emergency": it came out of YEARLY TAXES meaning the taxes already collected

there were lawsuits to prevent politicians from spending money NOT collected already from taxes (borrowing money they didn't have), the Clinton era said "well due to improvements we will be worth that much"

there were lawsuits to stop california from demanding emergency funds after (an earthquake, a fire) that it should come out of their State taxes (which btw are mostly federal return tax - income tax and paycheck tax)

(not borrowed from children's futures)

the issue here is the use of the term "emergency" as to signing debt on children

I would call it mob activity and a "stalking" issue.

during Reagan: neighborhoods had to pay to remove their snow as needed - the government wouldn't do it unless the residents were "trapped" for a few days (usually meaning, the State owned trucks and employees would get to it after clearing snow emergency routes and such if the neighborhoods were not yet cleared by a private plow company or by the residents)

One last time.

The issue is that storm cleanup (ie, snow in Chicago) was already budgeted. If "emergency funds" are claimed on every storm: it means those funds are stolen - that the Reagan era budget for storms is stolen and used for (gov paychecks) and they are borrowing in the future to pay for (storms, roads, things that were supposed to come out of taxes ALREADY collected).

Florence again became a Category 4 hurricane, later reaching a new peak intensity with winds of 140 mph (220 km/h) and a central pressure of 939 mbar (27.7 inHg). Afterwards, Florence weakened slightly as it underwent an eyewall replacement cycle, but began to restrengthen late on September 11. However, early on September 13, the storm weakened to a Category 2 hurricane.

it may be "normally bad seasonal weather" as far as this storm is concerned, for the areas effected

the hurricane is predicted to go SOUTH, not north, mr northham. it's the first time i've heard of it (i'm accustomed to hearing of and seeing the few i watch go awkwardly north), but apparently not new news to weather people

tropical storms can drop from 4 to 2 in a couple days, they can also pick up from 2 to 4 in a couple days

today the weather is calm on the east middle coast (north east is cloudy rainy already), but it is not dry and clear. i wouldn't expect the 2 to drop any lower

inland today's forecast is <3" rain (not even a storm). yesterday dunno at the moment. they are in the path of florence just a little inland. it's NOTHING like the numbers radio is calling out

----------------------

HOWEVER topic is if it was "called early" (assuring people it would hit Virginia rather than the more statistically usual places on the eastern board)

the topic was Virginia calling state of emergency rather than simply working behind the scenes for minor preparation or (assuring radio played advisory). instead Virginia said evacuations would be needed - and i'm unsure they didn't pay for them $$$$
