While looking at used cars today I came across this gem. I have ZERO interest in this vehicle but, I am insanely curious...

2014 GMC Yukon XL 1500 Denali with 110,000 miles...$29,097.

I have had 2 GM vehicles in the last 8 years. Although properly maintained, once they got above 100,000 miles, they both started having serious problems. Of course, by then the extended warranty was long invalidated.

Who is the market for high mileage vehicles like this at this price point?

110k aint shit for a modern vehicle. Even a GM product should be good for at least 250k.

Government Motors are the biggest pieces of shit. GM still owes US taxpayers $10 billion. They are going to go under again. Nobody should buy one of their vehicles. Fuck those assholes.

If you weren’t interested, then why you looking? GM still manufactures good products but in Ontario. Any vehicle that is maintained will run as long as you want it to.

Depends on what you are into. I need a big SUV or truck to tow my camper and my horse trailer. The best bet in big SUV's is the Toyota Sequoia. The Toyota can go 300,000 miles only needing routine maintenance and normal wear and tear items like brakes and tires.

The vehicle could easily last ten more years and go another 150,000 miles. It could also be facing $5,000 or more in repairs in the next six months. And there isn't anyone out there guaranteeing the second option won't happen. Most likely buyer isn't someone like me who could pay cash, and has another vehicle sitting around to use if this breaks down. It is some struggling family guy or a kid starting out who is going to be borrowing at least part of the purchase price. At $12,000 it might be a reasonable bet. At $30,000 there are much better alternatives.

Because as I started to click through the filters of my search, I stopped when this vehicle appeared...the miles and price seemed oddly juxtaposed, despite what I now understand to be market conditions.

I bought a very similar vehicle with 40K miles - 5 years old for 27K not long ago. I can't imagine the book on that yukon is anywhere over 15K at most - much less if it's been "rode hard".

Yeah, that is just the seller's fantasy price. He will end up selling it for 1/3 of that or less. Lots of people have a crazy idea in their head about what their car is worth.

Would you buy a used car from someone who tells you he's leaving the Country soon? In fairfax it's your only choice!

a) your not doing your own work your letting illegals work on it

b) you don't driver or maintain it right

c) delco / dana parts aren't failing: chinese part replacements that say "delco" are failing

d) they told you you need a tow package and you refused to believe them

I said I had 2 GM vehicles previously...not GMC vehicles. And my GMs were not trucks, or SUVs or minivans.

My maintenance is done by 3, white GM certified mechanics at the dealer.

All of my replacement parts are sourced from the dealer. I'm not saying they haven't gotten their hands on fake parts and I get that everything fails eventually but, I had transmissions rebuilt in both cars prior to 100,000 miles. So, again...who is the market for a $30,000 SUV with those kinds of miles on it?

Neither of my Corvettes had a tow package...

Why would you buy any brand of car that you must "work on"? I buy cars to drive, not GM's.

I bought a used Buick back in college for $4500. It had 56,000 miles on it. I drove until 220,000 when the inspector told me I need a new rack and pinion, defrost fix, new tires and exhaust fix. When I bought my new car they knocked $500 off in trade. I drove the car for 9 years.

I only changed the oil once in 150,000 miles and once new brakes on it. The only reason I changed the oil was that the car failed emissions and I needed to get my "fix it" bill over $250 for an emission waiver.

I have never seen a straight man driving a Honda.
