Yeah his house was around the corner, he was hurt and had a bike who’s chain broke which was why he went to ask if he could get some help. And idk who in the right mind would burglarize someone’s house unarmed and on a bike, maybe that’s how you would but a smarter indiviadal would plan in out better if Ethan was too. His bike was recovered right by the house. And you don’t shoot someone who has no weapons on them, isn’t in close proximity to you, and third, someone who’s running. Surprisingly this guy has a FB which hasn't had any public posts since about 2015. He graduated from Mason and was all dressed up in a suit and tie looking dapper for a hot second. Almost four years later and this still annoys me. The whole situation was messed up. He got shot, and the news media was out there reporting an attempted burglary within 25 minutes without getting the facts right. I've known this guy for 15 years, and do agree that he had stupid moments, especially from 2018-2020, but let's look at the facts.

His parents are extremely wealthy, and he really has everything he needs. For as long as some of us have known him, it's been routine for him go out on bike rides during odd hours. Prior to getting shot, he called his at-the-time gf stressed out because he hated his job at MicroStrategy, and she recommended him getting on his bike. Maybe she was the mastermind? The "woman" who claims he stole her laptop was a bipolar ex gf of his. He did take it, but not because he's a thief, but more so because he can be a pompous dick at times as a way to get a point across.

Lastly, he "intruded" his community member's property, who happens to be a former DEA agent. Aren't they supposed to be professional marksmen? How does a once glorified federal agent unload an entire clip and miss every shot except the two that got Ethan's foot and grazed his arm? My guess, the homeowner was intoxicated and thought he could play cowboy. However, since he held a position of power, it's in his best interest to play the victim. Mr. Amber Heard over here. The charges were dropped rather quickly, as Ethan's alibi lined up with the evidence. The bike was found by the house, dented and missing a chain, which was later recovered. Ethan was probably stoned when he fell, leading to a poor decision in thinking that its normal to knock on someone's door at dawn so he could call his mom to pick him up. Ethan is far from perfect, and can be a pain in the ass at times. However, he means well, is loyal to his real friends, and is also highly educated. He did finish Mason with two degrees and nearly a 4.0 GPA, so he's obviously not stupid. He was unlucky and somewhat immature more than anything else.

If you are asking why his rap sheet is so long, let me ask you this. Yes, he had priors before he got shot, but that's more so because of his maturity level at the time. Many of his setbacks happened after the "burglary attempt". We all hear stories about union electricians battling Opioid addictions due to back pains. This was the same case, only worse. Getting shot by that nut with a gun was the genesis of an addiction phase that lasted until he went to jail for a year. It was the best thing that could happen because it allowed him to get clean. Him getting shot messed him up physically and emotionally, which can happen to anyone. Addiction is no joke, so its best not to judge. You never know, that could be you one day. How would you feel if people publicly slandered your name because of it?

What really disappointed me was the lack of professionalism from the media. Get your facts right before you permanently ruin an individual's reputation on the internet. It took days for the bike story to get out, as this area proved once again to be full of incompetent individuals pretending to be useful.

And to the idiot who called him a "wigger", no, that's not true. The man listens to Mozart, Beethoven, Bill Evans, and Oscar Peterson. His musical taste is actually much classier than the music most people listen to, especially "wiggers".
