A Fairfax County woman was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for perjury after lying repeatedly during the prosecution of her husband in the killing of a 21-month-old boy at the woman's Springfield home day-care center.
Jillian Ahmad Wood, 24, acknowledged leaving the toddler, Myles Simon, with her husband, Mohammad A. Ahmad, while she went in search of cocaine one morning in September 2006. When she arrived at home, Myles was dead of multiple skull fractures and severe blunt force trauma to the abdomen. Ahmad was later charged with murder in the boy's killing.
A jury convicted Ahmad in 2007, and he was sentenced to 40 years in prison. But defense attorneys later discovered that Wood, a key prosecution witness, had been arrested with marijuana the night before her husband's trial, and prosecutors had failed to disclose it or charge her. The judge ordered a new trial.
As the second trial approached in April, Wood acknowledged that she had lied on the stand about her actions before Myles's death. Then she made a phone call, which was recorded, to Ahmad in the Fairfax jail seeking $6,000 in exchange for her favorable testimony. Confronted on the witness stand with the recording, she denied it was her.
Prosecutors dropped Wood as a witness and reached a plea deal with her now ex-husband for a 20-year sentence. Prosecutors then charged Wood with two counts of perjury. She pleaded guilty in November.
On Friday, she apologized for lying under oath and said, "There isn't a day that goes by that I don't regret leaving Myles with Mohammad."
Fairfax Circuit Court Judge Marcus D. Williams said Wood's actions "contributed substantially to a miscarriage of justice." He imposed the maximum sentence of 10 years, suspending seven years.

As the one person said about this situation with her. Her lie did not kill this kid. It was her husband and if you take the time to read deeper into what had happened. She was buy groceries at Walmart after stopping at a friends house but she was looking for smoke. Her husband called her several times telling her to come home but the calls did not go through because her cell service was not working in walmart like most of us. It was then after she got out of walmart she got the messages and then called home to see why he had called so much. Her husband told her that the child that he killed was tried and he put him to bed. She told him that it was to early for him to take a nap and she was on her way home to fix the kids some food and then she would put them down for a nap. It was when she got home, she did not see the child and asked her husband where the kid was. He said sleeping in the crib. She went to check on him and he was cold and not responding. He told her not to call 911 and she refused and called 911 and then he left and skipped town and headed to New York near the airport. She was left at the house with the paramedics and police to explain what had happened. Her husbands family wanted to give her money for a good testimony for family member.

No her lie did not kill him.... BUT it did cost him to strike a deal and he only half of the 40 yrs, though he should have got the gas chamber, I will never for the life of me understand our justice system sometimes.

This chick deserves to rot in hell along with her piece of shit husband. I have friends whose kids used to go to Jillian's daycare. They removed their kids from her "care" because one of them had an unexplained busted lip one day. This was a few months before Myles Simon died. She was out looking for drugs instead of watching the kids whose parents trusted and paid her to care for? Complete waste of life, utterly classless piece of shit.

Fairfax is the 3rd richest county if the wife had been abusive or wrongdoing on her part than she wouldve had more than perjury charges on her. The child that socalled busted his lip while in her care... irrelevent to the murder. Children fall and hurt themselves all the time.

Well, here is the latest I have heard on Muhammad Ahmad:
Apparently this guy was making a shot ton of money by taking advantage of and scamming young women into sending narcotics to a corrections officer via snail mail. Said correction officer would then smuggle the drugs into the prison where Ahmad would proceed to sell them to the inmates for grossly inflated prices. I was told it was suboxone strip which because of their small size were able to fit upwards of 150 strip at a time in a single envelope! I guess the girl (who was an addict herself) was able to get off drugs and realize the huge mistake she had made getting involved with this child murderer. Also, I guess Muhammad did not take it lightly when she dumped him for her new boyfriend and proceeded to stalk said boyfriend, his mom, grandma and sister until the boyfriend got fed up with this pathetic behavior and called the police and let them know that Ahmed was selling drugs, in possession of a cell phone and defrauding innocent people by stealing their information and using it to apply for credit cards. So, thankfully, this douche bag got what he deserved because his prison cell was searched and the cell phone and drugs were found which inevitably took away all of the good time he had accumulated over the years. I also think he got sent to a prison with a maximum security but last I heard he was scamming another girl. If he is, I hope he gets caught swiftly this time. If any other young ladies start falling under his trap I hope they do a little digging and find this thread. Maybe they will think twice before they decide to fall for this guy's "charms," promises of wealth and proclamations of innocence. I would want them to know that he is evil and manipulative. He is NOT innocent so don't fall for that "I'm innocent and nobody believes me" spiel because it's all part of his master plan. You aren't the first girl hhe's done this to and won't be the last. Hmm a lot of lies and self serving comments on here.First no one knows what happened but the husband and wife and everything else is speculation.to address some comments above. Courtney Brooke bandish posted a comment about Muhammad selling narcotics and such in prison and stalking her or whatever I find that funny since she lives in Michigan and has never personally met him and was getting silicone strips and mailing it to the correction officer and getting paid to treat her methadone addiction.
