Bro, I haven't smoked in 22 years and I still have daily cravings. When I get anxious, I will fumble in my shirt pocket for a box of cigarettes that isn't there. I doubt you ever lose that addiction...

I quit in 2011 after 45 years of smoking and after about 10 months of taking Chantix. Not thinking anything of it at the time, I put a cigarette out one morning. I just never lit another one. It was surprisingly easy. After another few months, I was able to taper off the Chantix as well. Smoking was the stupidest thing I ever did. Glad I was finally able to undo it.

I quit 20 years ago and I don't want cigarettes anymore. Quitting was awful - terrible physical withdrawal and missing the outlet of the habit. But I got through it and now it's not something that I even think about now.

It's amazing how something that was once so vitally important "gotta have it" to me is now not even a part of my life.

On and off smoker for about 20 years. Would quit and some kind of crisis would arise and then would start again.

This last time, I quit but started vaping instead. When there was a recall on the vape pens I used, they cleared the shelves of all the cartridges too. I couldn't see myself getting a vape machine -- too much trouble IMO or resorting to e-cigs -- not enough drag ,, not worth it.

I didn't have a used vape cartridge to jerry-rig and DIY so I just stopped. It's been a few months and I don't crave anymore.

The nicotine puts you in a different frame of mind .. keeps you coming back ... what a drug!!

Glad I am not wasting my time, money and myself on that anymore.

if you are healthy quit

not everyone can - certain know phsical ailments make quitting highly unlikely - such as having been poisoned badly by (factory) chemicals

there are no known treatments for some physical aliments except by 1-800-bad-drug poison pills which are known at once to be both more harmful than smoking and also not do the job as well

RALH NORTHAM KNOWS THIS AND IS A DEVLISH LIAR. he knows it very well.

the push for no smoking in government is because they can get higher taxation by EXPORTING TOBACCO than by locals consuming it

they are total liars

today, everything (data, people) about tobacco companies is hidden by 100 fold of lawfirms. you can't find out who is in charge, where it's grown or imported, what the cost of production is. all of it leads to legal firms that are owned by other legal firms

Been about two months for me. Stopped smoking when I was sick. Cigs tasted awful when I was sick and just never went back to them. I tried once while quitting but it was disgusting. So I pretty much have to thank being sick (step and synus infection) for the cure.

I've been smoking for several years, but I want to quit. That's why I'm interested in all this stuff about vaping. I've already surfed the Internet and found https://vapingdaily.com/. This is a good vaping information resourse and a community of vapers. It provided me with much useful info, so now I have to choose a proper kind of vapes. Does anypone know anything about nicotine free vape pens? Is it a good choice for a long-term smoker?

I am sure that smoking addiction is one of the most dangerous. Of course, we shouldn't forget about the dependence on hard drugs, but it is much less common. I started smoking in high school. After about six years, I realized that I was addicted to weed. I just wanted to quit smoking it, but I couldn't do it so easily. I have been looking for advice on how to quit smoking for a very long time, but it was difficult to find something. In many forums, the tips are repeated, so I did not find anything useful for myself. I decided to go to extremes and go to the Narcotics Anonymous forum. They gave me a lot of advice, but the most effective one was to go to a rehabilitation center. I was scared to do it, but I decided to take a chance. In the beginning it was very difficult for me, but over time I began to control myself better. I have been able to minimize my smoking to one joint per month. I am sure I will completely quit smoking before the end of this year!

I got lung cancer which made quitting easier. Quit and chew nicotine gum, works.

I quit after 40 years of heavy smoking.Over the years I tried patches, nicotine gum, Chantix none of that shit worked. In February I quit cold turkey. It was hard at first. I would get really intense cravings for cigarettes but gradually the cravings became less frequent and the cravings would disappear after 10-15 minutes. Now I don't even miss them at all. I am so glad I quit!
