Uber to Lexington

Uber is cheaper than a taxi, even for a 175 mile trip.
Problem is: Uber drivers are not paid for dead miles,
so you will have to bribe in cash for the return trip.
Although many Uber drivers just won't drive that far,
I would do it for an extra $200 up front. Throw in $60 more
for me to spend on dinner while we're in Lexington,
and I'll wait for you and drive you home for just the tip, too.
No idea what Uber would bill you for the trip.
The passenger's fare is no longer connected to the driver's pay.
We get paid per-mile while you're in the car.
But what Uber charges you is at least a 30% markup from that,
and it's often a 200% markup from that. One of the factors that
goes into the price is your personal profile: if you live in a
fancy neighborhood or go to fancy places, Uber charges you a much
higher rate because they know you got the dough. Uber tracks you
at all times throughout the day if you have their app installed.
(Not just when you're using it.) They have a detailed profile on you.
Round trip including bribes: I'm guessing around $550.
I realize this is just a junk thread, but thought someone
might like to know what the trip would cost.
If it were me, I would just rent a car for $40 and drive myself.
