Did you know that Accotink is part of the FFCo Cross-County Trail? It's hard to follow and parts of it are VERY rough, you have to ford a few streams on foot and carry the bike around some obstacles, but there are some really nice parts of the trail, as well. It runs north to south from Great Falls to the Occoquan River, and it is made up of many other named trails, some paved and some rough. The trail markers are easy to miss, they are little "CCT" signs. You can see some on the Accotink trail. Do a google on it. I've biked most of it.

I don't believe motorized bikes are allowed on the CCT. There is a sign near the Accotink Creek that says mountain bikes are allowed but only about two evenings a week during certain hours. The CCT is for walkers and regular bikes only nothing motorized. I can tell you that the bikers are usually very polite and do verbally caution that they will be passing the walkers or runners.

Sorry I have to correct some information. I thought mountain bikes had motors but they don't. They are allowed on the trails. I was thinking of those four wheel motor cars driven by kids and others on public trails.
Sorry for the misinformation.

Sure, 495, anytime. I'm the douchebag that always carries a "walking stick"...actually it's a piece of 3/4 inch rebar that snaps spokes effortlessly.

Hint: don't ride your good bike cuz it WILL need a new front wheel!
