Memories
Light the corners of my mind
Misty watercolor memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were

Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me - Would we? Could we?

Memories
May be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget

So it's the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember
The way we were

Who is the little guy next to Zorn? Is that one of the "special" participants in the Punt,Pas and Kick competition?

Unless Danny Boy changes his meddling ways, it don't matter.

So it sounds like Shanahan ain't the man (at least for now). Maybe someone with common sense got to Shanahan and laid out what this could mean for his career. Remember George Seifert? Your buddy in SF? Remember what happened when he took charge of the dysfunctional Carolina Panthers? How'd that work out for his career? Anybody offering George any jobs lately?

That's how they got Zorn in the first place, remember? They couldn't find anyone to take that head coaching job, so they promoted Zorn internally which made him bypass the traditional "coordinator" position. Nobody with half a brain should take that job, unless that person can get his contract in such a way that Snyder sorta takes a back seat to the operations of the team. Oh, wait...that's never going to happen. At least not anytime soon.

Well, if it was something like this, it wouldn't take long for Bruce Allen to walk. Not like Danny Boy hasn't had a GM quit on him before really starting before.

Terry Robiskie and Pepper Rogers? The comedy continues. Hey - there are some good high school coaches in the area.

If they are both black, it may be to help satisfy the Rooney Rule.

Pepper Rodgers is white. He's the guy that Snyder [bizarrely] promoted to VP a few years ago.

Also, there's no way this can possibly be true. If Rodgers were named as head coach, no one would even take the team seriously anymore.

Snyder does some dumb shit, but there's NO WAY this is going to happen.

I heard Snyder's trying to lure Rich Kotite or Ray Handley out of retirement.

I thought the rooney Rule was met by the interview of the secondary coach a couple weeks back? I think we need to give Marty Schittinhymen another chance.

What do you bet Cerrato is going to be the new head coach? He didn't quit because he was forced out, he quit to get a head start on his new assignment...

There's no doubt it'll be Shanahan. Expect an announcement tomorrow morning. He flew in this morning according to the Atlanta Journal and his son, offensive coordinator for the Texans, has said he will go with his father to Washington if it is finalized. One would assume his son would not say this openly unless this deal were eminent.

Marty Schotenheimer was the man. In 2001, the Redskins started the season 0-5, and then went on a 5 game winning streak to become 5-5.

The only team in history to lose its first 5 games, then win their next 5.

After going 0-5...the Redskins finished the season going 8-3 in their last 11 games.

Thats what I call progress, I would have kept him as the coach. I mean, the QB was Tony freakin' Banks and Marty turned them into a winning team.

Marty was fired because Snyder wanted to bring in Steve SPURRIER AND HE WENT 12-20 in 2 seasons JUST LIKE ZORN!!!!!!!

I'm hearing the contract with ShanaDan is done, but it still has to be approved by the Leauge/Mgt Council.

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting now that the two sides have begun to discuss contract details. Schefter has as close a relationship with Mike Shanahan as anyone in the media, dating back to Schefter's time covering Shanahan's teams in Denver. Schefter, in fact, wrote Shanahan's 2000 book, "Think Like A Champion."
Schefter tweeted this afternoon: "Talks went well enough last night that Mike Shanahan summoned his agent, Sandy Montag, to Washington to negotiate his contract."

My question is, if Danny Boy agrees to pay Shanny $10 mil a year, will he still be paying Shanny $10 mil a year in 2011 if the owners lockout the players?
