Woody's vs Smash'd in downtown Fairfax City
Posted by: Competition! ()

It takes some nerve to open a competing ice cream joint right next to an established one.

The Smash'd concept is pretty neat. The ice cream is literally made fresh in front of you, and you get unlimited toppings. Price isn't bad either($4 for small or $5 for regular)

That said, Woody's stocks locally sourced ice cream, and can serve a mean traditional banana split.

Can Fairfax City sustain two dedicated ice cream shops right next to each other? If not, WHO WILL WIN?!?!

Neither location is good. Parking at Woody's is very tight. Smash'd has none anywhere. Can't stand old Fairfax with its narrow sidewalks and Formula One racers trying to beat traffic lights.

Whomever “planned” the new area is mentally ill.
Parking had ALWAYS been a problem since Picos was still around.
Did the meth homo plan this design?
I would suck cock and smoke meth too if I designed this clusterfuck

Considering Smashed is the 4th occupant in that location, Woody's will be fine. The poster above is correct. "Downtown Fairfax is a cluster.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

The developer makes no money with empty storefronts.

Just walk down North Street to University. So many shuttered stores that leasing space there is practically a death sentence:

Pacers? CLOSED
Foster's Grille? CLOSED
Al Maza Lebanese Restaurant? CLOSED
Sweetchills? CLOSED
Piccomolo? CLOSED

The biggest joke is that Sweetchills, which served frozen yogurt, and Piccolomo, which served gelato, were in the very same storefront now occupied by Smash'd.

I assume the owners of Smash'd got an incredible deal to take suite 103; possibly to include the equipment. Otherwise, why would anyone believe the third ice cream shop in this location is the one that succeeds?

As other posters mentioned, there is NO parking right there. (And if you're going to eat ice cream, who in the heck wants to walk a little bit, right?) Second, there is NOTHING appealing about waking North Street. Third, too many idiots drive way too fast and the sidewalk offers little to no protection.

Anyway, Woody's owners did well enough several years ago to move from their trailer location on Stonewall to the permanent building in downtown FFX City. In both places, they only operate during the warmer weather and then shutdown in winter to enjoy Florida.

My bet?

Woody's wins.

BTW, more good news:

21 Great American Bistro had 5 violations and Smash'd Creamery had 3 violations back in February.

I get 3 gallons of premium ice cream for $5.00 from the local Giant.

Turkey Hill is an excellent ice cream for a very decent price when Giant puts on sale.

Anyone spending $5.00 for a scoop of ice cream is not spending wisely.

Want to be a multi millionaire in your early 60's such as myself?

Watch your spending habits - it adds up.

Things not to buy out in town: coffee, ice cream, lunch with the boys-n-girls at work, be very wary of the charities you contribute to, make sure their overhead is less than 8%. Do not buy high end labeled cars and homes. Do this for three decades and you will be a millionaire if you actually work.
If your one of those sucking off of the government teat you will always be broke.

Pacers didn’t close...it was never in that space to begin with it was on the opposite corner. Now it’s jist in the square...the rent was too high and they didn’t generate enough revenue so they moved that was like 2-3 years ago. Green turtle closed and I guess all those other things but yea

Hey Source: FAKE NEWS!

For 8 years Pacers occupied 10430 North Street (at the corner with University) before moving 12/7/2017 to near to the Wine House.

Running and drinking. Drinking and running. Looks promising!

If you don't believe me, then believe Pacers website:

Fairfax City is what happens when libtarded voters elect a meth head who spends all his time in gay orgies.
