When I was in high school, they had a saying... If ya can't go to college, go to Ferrum. Course they said that about some other schools besides Ferrum.

It is a good college for people who don't know how to use "a" and "an" properly.

Hokie is right. I see too many kids sell themselves short by starting out at 4th rate schools like Ferrum when they could have gotten good grades for a few semesters at NOVA to get into a better school.

It's in the middle of fucking nowhere. Go to GMU, it will be a much better experience.

Blessed are the murderous.

I went to UVa. I've never heard of this "Fayrum" college. Is it accredited? Is it in the Commonwealth? Is it a technical or remedial school? Well, off to party with hot ladies at my favorie bar in Georgetown. Ta-ta.

Best moonshine in the entire state in Franklin County, and Ferrum was always a fun place to visit when I went to VT... I vaguely remember the sign as you enter Franklin saying something along the lines of 'not a certified business location'. Seriously.

This thread was started by a troll.

Trolls always return to the scene of the crime to gloat.

It follows that boredom started this thread.

Isn't that where the hunter shot three college kids a couple months ago? He thought they were deer.

hunter: Get your story straight! I'm sick and tired of seeing half-truths posted here. It was a Christmas party, and a bunch of girls dressed as reindeer for the sleigh they had, and a legitimate venison-seeking member of the public got confused. OK?

That makes sense. Someone else started it so obviously I started it...

Perhaps you went to Ferrum. =P

Might want to forget college altogether and re-enroll in grammar school.

Ferrum isn't a bad school. It's small, painfully small. I went there for a semester before transferring. Coming from NOVA where graduating classes can range between 500-600 students, Ferrum has just over 900 students total. What that translates to is a environment almost as bad as high school with everyone in everyone elses business. The girls aren't bad. You get a nice mix of "innocent" country girls. The parties aren't epic but they do the trick and your practically guaranteed some of the best flavored moonshines. You are at least 45 minutes from anything resembling a metro area, i.e malls, movie theaters, restaurants, etc... in Roanoke. Classes are small so you can't get "lost" in them like you can at a bigger college. Also, they have a very strict attendance policy so you really can't slack off.

I HIGHLY recommend that you visit the campus before making your decision.

That's not even close to what happened. The kids were out doing research for Biology. They were dressed in normal clothes.

I am a student at Ferrum. At first i was wondering what I had gotten myself into . I am a city girl from richmond and this environment is completely different for me, but i have growned to like it, the people are cool , you jave a few in your business but, thats everywhere you go. The teachers actually show that they care and the parties aren't like home but, you definitely will have a good time. visit before you make your decision

It seems like Radford for people who can't make Radford.

Note that tuition, room and board at Ferrum are almost $37,000. If you have that much money to spend on school, you can do a lot better. Or you could go to a state school and invest the extra cash so you'll have some money in the bank when you graduate. US News ranks Ferrum number 42 among southern regional colleges, well behind a lot of other places nobody ever heard of (but ahead of Radford).
