Accident: SUV vs. Brick Wall
Posted by: terrysb ()

Heard this on the scanner and since it was close to my house decided to go and get some pictures. The lady driving the car apparently swerved off the road and hit the brick wall that surrounds a townhouse community. The car was an SUV and there was only one vehicle involved. She wasn't injured but I guess something like this could ruin your whole day. My guess - she was probably chatting on her cell phone...

She's lucky a few of those bricks didn't come flying thru the windshield.

Good thing the cops weren't working too hard.

Out of curiosity how many were there and how many needed? In your opinion only.

LOL! That's pretty classic. It always amazes me when people hit something 20+ feet from any road.

What neighborhood was this in, if you don't mind?

Thanks for sharing

This was on Piney Branch Rd just north of Lee Highway and across from the Home Depot parking lot. The wall was set back from the road at least 20 feet. At the time there was no ice on the road. She was heading north and was only a block or so from Lee Highway. So either she was accelerating too quickly and lost control or wasn't paying attention (cell phone?).

There were 2 cops standing around and would occasionally direct traffic while the wrecker winched the vehicle out. They left when the car was being loaded onto a flatbed.

Look at it this way. The townhouse development just got a brand new entrance - for free.

I'd love to have seen a picture of the SUV from the front.

Here are the two officers engaged in consultation over matters at hand. Good thing that they have a lot of insulation because the temperature at the time was 27 degrees.

Good to see the FCPD doing a good job of managing the scene
