Last night, me and 5 friends tailed some faggoty DWI citizen patrollers. When we found an area of relative darkness and cover, we proceeded to beat the shit out of them, and used their cell phones as anal probes. After the beat down we drank a few beers on the hood of their car, and ended the night by calling the cops gicning their liscence plate number as a potential drunk driver.

Just about anything. Failure to use turn signals is often a good one. How often do you see on Cops where the officer says, "This guy has a light out so we're gonna pull him over and see what's up?"
Chances are pretty good that the officer has another reason for pulling that driver over.

Fairfax County Police Officers from the McLean District Station conducted a sobriety checkpoint to deter and apprehend intoxicated drivers on Friday, December 29 from 11 p.m. until 2 a.m. Saturday. All motorists were stopped and drivers were checked to assure that their abilities to drive had not been impaired by alcohol or drugs. Approximately 682 motorists were stopped in the westbound lanes of Leesburg Pike at Watson Street. One person was charged with driving while intoxicated and three people were cited for driving without a license. Four auxiliary police officers assisted with the DWI checkpoint.

Three hours of a checkpoint to catch one DUI? That's why these things don't work. When a police action results in harrassing 678 law abiding citizens to catch four people, it is the definition of an abuse of power.

I've used yellow cab in FFX around last call about 50 times and only had a problem once. And yes, that one time did really suck!!! I didn't have my cell phone, 10 degrees and the bar got locked up. Luckily I was able to flag down a new cab.

Fuckers told me 10 minutes, and when I called them back after 20 minutes, they told me it would be 5 to 10 more minutes. And then after about another 20 minutes of waiting, I luckily saw a friend of mine who offered to drive me home.
That shit is unacceptable, I didn't even bother to call them back and cancel.

I thought this weird little group of Nazi bastards was just a urban legend. Apparently not. A few months ago I was in Blue Ridge arsenal and a guy that works there was discussing the group with a couple of Fairfax county officers. This guy that lives in Phoenix ,AZ started it after his niece was killed by a drunk driver. His buddy from the service started the Northern, Va. chapter and apparently lives in Centreville. They now supposedly have over 80 part time volunteers driving around Va & MD (I find that hard to believe, lots of strange folks).
If they really go to late night eating & drinking establishments and look for drunk drivers, anyone is a target. With Virginia's ridiculous .o8 we could all be convicted. WTF is wrong with a few beers, I mean .08 ?

I'm curious what criteria these assholes use to determine whether someone is drunk enough to be followed.
What's more dangerous, someone that had a few drinks, or some asshole trying to follow behind him in a car while talking on a cell phone?

The police could just respond and follow the reported driver. They would still have to establish probable cause for the traffic stop. That's not hard, "you were weaving a bit sir, how much have you had to drink tonight ?" Once they get the call if there is a unit close by you will get stopped. Especially if some police academy reject is following with with updates: "we are crossing route 50 and turning onto Penderbrook drive. He is in a blue pick up truck with tag # abc 1987. Thank you maam, there are two officers behind him now with their safety lights activated. Goodnight and thank you."
Personally I find the whole idea of citizens doing this a bit oppressive. Reminds me of the tattle tales in 1st grade. With our .o8 and civil fees, Virginia doesn't need these wackos. How many DWI arrested people were a real treat anyway ?

Yeah every state is now .08 due to Clinton in 2000 taking away federal highway funds for those states that didn't comply.

Actually if you do the statistics you'll see that drunk or impaired drivers are actually safer drivers per hundred accidents. Of course that doesn't make for good media or what church ladies want you to know.

peoples lifes are at steak. No one should be drinking even around small local roads. my friend die after the big pick up truck hit his small car. His wife now does 3 working jobs too take care of her 1 girl and 3 boys. It is sad

Does anyone besides me doubt the existence of this group ? It seems like they would have a website to raise money. All that driving around is expensive at $3.00 a gallon. I did a search on the net and found a PO box in Scottsdale, AZ but nothing around here for a group in Fairfax. I wonder if it is BS Urban legend.

Alcohol maybe a FACTOR, but it is not the cause. The cause of traffic fatalities is failure to obey traffic laws.
