According to multiple posts on social media, it appears that between 1-2 students have been arrested on school grounds possessing loaded firearms. Principal announced over PA that it was a rumor, but they are canceling the assembly anyways. Dozens of squad cars on site. Baseball player said to have turned shooters in.

Rumors of a threat or gun spread like a virus among students before and during first period. Many messaged parents and were picked up as a precaution. Principal released statement to parents that the source of the rumor had been interviewed and no actual threat existed. School was very understanding and did a great job with parents who arrived to pick up panicked kids. There will be extra security for the rest of the week to help the kids feel safe.

Fairly certain principal is lying out of his ass, considering that multiple sources are claiming that students have already been arrested with loaded weapons. Probably just trying to not incite panic, however it seems extremely irresponsible of him to just lie about it. Nothing new with him, though.

What social media posts? Went to the Robinson FB and twitter but there is nothing mentioned. There was a bomb threat when I attended in 2009 or 2010, was just some stupid senior pulling a prank...any chance this is a stupid kid doing the same thing?

a gun has just so many shots in it. if people were brave just gang rush the shooter. sure some will be hit but the shooter most likely will run. gang rush him/her from all sides. can't get everyone. just saying.

I got new info that this whole situation was caused when students discovered that a lesser grade of tater tots were about to be served at lunch.

Earlier today, our department became aware of widespread concern regarding a possible school threat involving Robinson Secondary School. Our school resource officers have determined there was no threat made, nor was there any danger to any students.

Tuesday evening, a 15-year-old Robinson student took a picture of himself, holding a toy airsoft gun and posted it on social media. No threats of any kind were made in the post. Other students saw his post, shared it over social media, and rumors began to spread about a potential school shooting.

On Wednesday, FCPS school security found Schedule II narcotics on the student who made the post. Drug charges are now pending, but it was determined no threat was made nor did the student have access to actual weapons.

Early this morning, an anonymous student emailed the school’s tip line and reported a possible threat of violence at this school, stemming from the social media post. The Office of School Safety and Security shared the tip with our officers, who immediately began investigating once they got the information. The anonymous tip was thoroughly investigated, with the safety of our students being the number one priority. Officers interviewed the student today at his home and he admitted to bringing the toy gun to school and led officers to a nearby creek off school property where he had placed it.

We commend the student who came forward anonymously with the concerns and continue to encourage anyone with information on potential school threats to do the same. Regardless of the source, we take all threats seriously and investigate each one swiftly and thoroughly. We work closely with Fairfax County Public Schools to maintain a safe environment for our children.

Heard with the bathroom fire on Friday that the closest teacher pulled the fire alarm but it didn't work. Had to contact the office to sound the alarm. Then the kids were sent back in before all the fumes cleared. What's up with the continued poor conditions and horrible Administration at Robinson?
