What happens after death?

Is there a heaven or hell? Do we become balls of light(orbs) do we move on to another dimension or body? In your opinion what do you think happens after death?

When you die, you will be dead and that will be the end of you. Get used to it.

depends on if you get charbroiled or just put in the ground. If you get to go in the ground the critters will get fed after your casket rots away. I recommend requesting a flimsy pine box to allow the process to occur quickly.
life after death simply means your matter spreads around the earth. your matter can be a great fertilizer for a greener lawn or a healthier tree.
we buried my grandmother in the wood near an old oak tree where the family cabin is located. let me tell you that tree blooms beautifully now with grams fertilization.

It’s complicated. I don’t have time to write it all out right now but in short, it involves an evolution of consiousness. There is no specific heaven or hell but to some extent, there are karmic reasons to do good in this realm. All in all, it’s really hard to explain...kind of like explaining colors to someone who is totally blind.

You won’t be totally bummed out and it doesn’t just end. Still though, very complicated and you are not quite “you” as you know “you” in this world. There are ways to dabble in the next realm but it’s takes insane discipline.

The judgement. Those who have accepted Jesus into their hearts will pass God"s judgement. Every soul is eternal and a new kind of body is given after death Those who reject the atonement made on their behalf by the Messiah will be in constant humiliation. Those who don't believe now, stand in condemnation.
Salvation from the judgement of sin is available here and now for all who choose to believe. Romans 10: 9-10

Well, all those posting above sound like EXPERTS! Seriously question the sanity of anyone who tells he knows what happens after death.

The REAL truth is that nobody knows, everything else is speculation.

What is true however, is that electrical energy (such as the energy in brain neurons, where one's personality is stored) can not be destroyed.

I speculate that that energy goes somewhere else, but where?

It's funny how god squaders try to use doubt to their benefit.

As in, how do you know there is no god? What if there is?

Oh, OK, since I don't know there is no god, there must in fact be one. Let's then make up one, with all kinds of crazy rules.

And you don't actually get to see this god (except of course, in the beauty that is all around, which, must have been created by god).

And, if we are amongst those who get spared when some natural disaster rolls by, we'll thank "him" for sparing us, but not wonder why "he" killed others (including infants), and not wonder why he created this otherwise random event to selectively kill, when "he" could have just killed who "he" wanted to without destroying a bunch of other stuff...

Remember that goldfish you flushed down the toilet when it died when you were a kid? Well, there you go.

For as many people that have died over the ages (millions upon millions) why have none of them shown up as ghosts?

I know quite a few people who died...a couple with a good sense of humor told me that after they die, they will do whatever possible to visit me as a ghost...never happened.

Why? 'Cause they dead and rotting in the ground.

Nothing else.

There is actually substantive evidence, mathematical evidence even proving the existence of God via intelligent design.

Focus on things you can control.

You have no control over what happens after death.

What will you do BEFORE you die?

I sense sarcasm. I’ll try to write it all out. I’ve just been real busy with work and kids, and don’t go on this site from my work computer and don’t want to type it all on a screen. Still, most of you a-holes won’t appreciate it. I guess though it can be a very scary concept for some and for me personally, learning what actually happens, has been a source of comfort. I’m happy to share that if it helps others. Stay tuned...

What happens after death?

I am guessing you mean what happens to you as a breathing cognizant person. OK here goes.

24 hours before you were conceived, and for all backwards eternity, you as a cognizant being did not exist. Nothing. Nothing Nothing. You weren't in some swanky "Hotel Before Life". You were not walking among the clouds. No tea with amazing and interesting people who also had yet to be born. Nobody loved you. There wasn't a big man on a throne with a man with holes in his hand sitting next to him. No pearly baby gates. You get the point. You were nothing. You did not exist at all.

After you die, you return to exactly that same state.

The answer is obvious and simple.

I was trying to explain it so people would understand. There is no swanky "Hotel Before Life" so therefore no swanky "Hotel After Life".

Maybe a better description is the coin operated tourist telescope. Ever use one? You pop in the money, you can look around for a set period of time, and then all goes black. Big nothing. Death is kind of like that.

Like any of the billions of other once-living organisms, when a human dies, their life ends.

What happens to the body after that varies-depends on what still-living humans decide to do with it.

Could be cremated, or embalmed and stuck in a box in the ground, thrown into the sea...whatever.

That's it.

Nothing more. No strange trips to see bearded guys living in some magical kingdom in the sky, or some red pointy tailed fellow deep in the ground.

Billions and billions of organisms have died before you, including humans. Over the ages, people have come up with many, many different belief systems (none of which have ever been proven in any logical, un-emotional way), some of which include some form of eternal reward or damnation for a "soul" concept.

None of that will happen.

But don't you worry, life will go on.

Just without you.
