What happened to the U.S. Postal Service credo that through RAIN, SLEET, SNOW, etc.. we deliver your mail. While I understand that there was a blizzard on Saturday, my street was plowed Sunday night and is passable. Yesterday, I was assured by the postal service that my mail would arrive. I spoke to several employees in the office that said your mail will be there; no mail. On top of that, my carrier spends hours speaking Spanish to people in the neighborhood and my mail routinely arrives several hours late. USPS = a sinking ship!

Seriously, what does the USPS bring you? For me it's mostly junk mail as all my bills are electronic. The Postal Service could go to delivery 3 times a week and most people wouldn't care. Unless of course you love getting ValuPak coupons every day.

We live in Centreville and our mail is delivered by the Sully Post Office. The mailman was out on-time and cruising through the snow, delivering our mail as usual. And that's with Centreville getting the most snow in Fairfax County - 23 inches! Must go by post office, but our post office and mail service folks are great!

It all depends on where you decided to live. My mail was delivered on Saturday and again on Monday and today. As for the exact time, I have no idea. I have better things to do than set a stopwatch on my mail delivery. But for the record, if it normally takes a driver on clear roads eight hours to deliver the mail on their route, how long do you imagine it would take them on the roads on Saturday? Let's be a little realistic. And if you're waiting on meds, it's your own fault. You should have ordered them sooner or had them shipped overnight express.

Mail times have always been inconsistent for me. I have gotten mail as early as 10am and as late as 8pm. What really pissed me off is that the mail didn't come today. It came Monday, how is today any worse? Fed Ex came, how come USPS can't?

My development has 854 single family homes that is served by one mail carrier. The mailboxes are not at the curb, so he has to walk up 854 driveways to 854 front doors to deliver the mail. Nobody shovels the sidewalks, so it's slow going.

Snailmal, I called my local post office and a supervisor was pissed, because there was no excuse for not getting the mail out. My mail finally came yesterday. All the postal apologists on here must work for the post office or live with their mommas and don't pay their own bills.

Believe it or not, I carried mail for the United State Postal Service.
My career ended when I totaled a mail truck in McLean.
It was a pretty crazy place.
The black guys thought most of the white guys were rednecks.
The white guys thought the black guys were affirmative action complainers.
The supervisors were folks who couldn't carry or sort mail well so they got promoted.
The Postmasters were ticket punchers.
At the time, an employee could crash one vehicle. After two, then there were consequences.
I only wrecked one. I could have stayed but decided to get out.
The United States Postal Service philosophy was to require an employee to eat dirt (or worse) for 20 years. Then, he got to do it to someone else.
Going Postal is unfortunate. What is fortunate is the fact that so few actually go crazy. Many more are on the brink.
My career ended when I totaled a mail truck in McLean.
It was a pretty crazy place.

My damn UPS package was scheduled to arrive the 23rd when it said it was 'out for delivery,' then rescheduled to arrive today and has yet to come. Probably tons of people ordering shit online and overwhelmed them. I fuckin need my fleshlight

GMU HOKIE also forgot to mention all the OTB (off the boat)foreign employees. In the Northeast they have pay tutorial courses on how to take the Postal exams... It's like Alien Nation these days. You want stamp? me love you long time, happy ending beef with broccoli man.
I remember growing up our mailman John was delivering mail when day and we threw a snowball at his truck so he got out and had a 30 second snow ball fight with us kids (14 or so at the time). Well his stuporvisor was tailing him and told him since he had so much extra time to have a snowball fight with the local kids he doubled his route. The postal service really treat their people like shit but the pension is good especially if you previously served in the military.
