Arlington and Fairfax counties should be ceded to Maryland, whether Maryland is "south" or "north." They're a better fit with Maryland and most of the people suck in both areas.

You're right about that but why not take it a step further and create a
separate State out of the whole DC area. Marion Barry for Governor,
Senator/Reverend Jesse Jackson, Senator/Reverend Al Sharpton, and for
Attorney General, Judge "$54 million pants" Roy Pearson. What a fun place

I once had a room mate from NYC who bitched constantly about everything
because it never met his "New York standards". He would chew out the
cooks in a restaurant if the food wasn't up to his expectations.
He would jump all over retail clerks if a store didn't have something
he was used to buying in NYC. I once watched him get thrown out of a
deli after yelling at the manager because they didn't carry the brand
of cream cheese he liked. Everywhere he went, he was unhappy and
if someone suggested he to back to NYC, he'd complain because everybody
around here is stupid and crude, but liked his Federal employment too
much to actually go back to his idea of Utopia. Riding in a car with him
at the wheel was like being in a Grand Prix everywhere we went and
I refused to get in a car with him at the wheel once I realized what a
screwed up attitude he had in traffic. Dangerous! It finally reached the
point where none of our group would have anything to do with him because
his non-stop complaining was quite boring. He finally went back after he
realized he wasn't making any friends and couldn't keep the ones he did
have. So much for assimilation. We had a going away party for him the
day after he left.

Why do you care about being called a Southerner? It is a geographical distinction. I am sure that there are fags who drive around Priuses in Atlanta and New Orleans too.

I live in Fairfax just like the rest of us, but I don't tell people I'm from D.C. - I'm not, so why should I? I'm from Virginia. That's where I grew up, and that's my home. Take that for what it's worth. I'm also a big fan of Roanoke.

But like someone said, it's a meaningless distinction. Unless you're still living on your family's plantation money, you're probably not a southerner, and you're probably not some blue-blooded Yankee unless your last name is Kennedy.

Yeah, no fifty car pile ups here in the south during a blizzard in the heaviest snow year in over a century, but those great northern drivers managed a 50 car pile up on the interstate.

I think it was a 22 car pile up in PA and a 50 car pile up in VA actually. So... Not proud of it or anything, but they're not helping our case here.
