The Feds will be closed tomorrow because nobody can "get to work", but
the shopping malls will be packed. No problem getting there.

To those who don't think Federal workers do anything--reminds me of the time a person told someone in my office that he didn't need our statistics, he could just get the data from the Washington Post. Guess he never noticed that source listed at the bottom of the table in the Post. Duh....

Are you kidding me? Most Feds work in DC. DC roads are nearly impossible to drive on clear summer days, they're going to be completely fucked for quite a while.

Why is Fairfax County Govt open? Courts are closed, Schools are closed, but unplowed Libraries and Parks (those people you want to RIF) have to open.

Holy SHIT.

Traffic was a bitch and I was on the road coming home from work at 3:00pm. I look over Rt. 50 and there is a huge line of cars waiting to get onto the ramp to Fair Oaks Mall. I suspect Tysons Mall is the same way.

Damn government employees.

Metro, meet Mr. Captcha... Mr. Captcha, meet Metro.

Besides very minor delays, Metro is operating at full strength today, both underground AND above ground. Bus service is more widely available. People can get to work just fine, they choose not to and instead head to the mall.
