thursday night police around northedge dr/modisto ln springfield

anyone know so many cops were in that neighborhood thursday night around 7-8 pm

They surrounded a house where the husband committed a felony assault against his wife. Since they guy owns guns they got the typical FFX CTY uber-response. There were at least 10 units plus 4 K9s plus about 5 other different responders. First, they tried calling him on the phone but he didn't come out. Next they tried blasting him with the PA system - same response. In the end they had to wait about an hour to get a warrant from the magistrate. Then, the K9 units just walked right into the house and cuffed him. End of story. They tied up the entire area for close to 2 hours and people trying to get home just had to wait.

Where do people get these stories? The dude was NOT assaulting his wife, he was a Krispy Kreme truck driver whose GPS tracking device atop the cab had ceased to function for reasons unknown. The police were right on it, trying to get him out of the house to answer why those donuts did not make it to area coffee shops, and eventually they stormed the residence. He was in his basement taking a sump as it turns out, he didn't hear the commotion outside until they busted the door down.

Here's the police summary, asshole:

Northedge Drive 9100
A 57-year-old man was charged with discharging a firearm inside a home in the 9100 block of
Northedge Drive on Thursday, December 17. Around 5:30 p.m., the man got into an argument
with his wife. They went into separate rooms and several minutes later, the wife heard several
loud noises from the garage. The husband walked into the room where his wife was, confronted
her and allegedly fired three shots in her direction. The victim, 65, fled the house and called
police. Officers responded, arrested Kevin McCulla and transported him to the Fairfax County
Adult Detention Center. He was charged with domestic assault, brandishing a firearm and
shooting into an occupied dwelling. The victim was not injured.
