Been hearing a lot of talk about these Great American Restaurants. Is Coastal Flats good? New to town...

There are three of them. Tysons, Fairfax Corner, and Gaithersburg. They are a little more seafood oriented than the other Great American brands, but the quality of the food and service is still very high. And the check won't break the bank.

GAR gets 5 stars outta 5 for every restaurant EXCEPT the Italian one!
Small entrees of pasta that I could make at home!
Coastal Fairfax corner WAS NICE, but it seems to be wannabe motorcycle (jap bikes) after the sun goes down.

All of the restaurants in the Great American family run by the same model. Very good and consistently prepared food with exceptional service at a fair price. You know what to expect at all of their establishments.

It's not "the Italian one" anymore. It's just Ozzies's Good Eats. They kept the most popular items on the menu (arancini, Crazy Lasagna, etc.) but it's now just a slightly more upscale sort of GAR restaurant. Coastal Flats on one corner and Ozzie's on the other, so you can take your pick.

I think coastal flats is the better of the group, the others all have the same food except with a few different dishes and they get old quick.

Compared to what? The DC area is not blessed with affordable places to get good fresh seafood, so by our standards it is good.

I want those Ozzie rolls with fresh butter constantly.
I want a server TO WRITE DOWN MY ORDER.
I want delicious food.
In that order.

This is why I goto Great American!
Keep it simple and succeed!
Service at most OTHER restaurants are the reason why I’ll never go again.

Mike's reminds me of Cheese Cake Factory.

Arties is so consistent. Great service. Great bartenders. Very good food.

Take a 20mile dive down MD210 and you can get bushels of fresh crabs for less than $60.
Bowie Road in Nanjemoy.
Professional crab guys.
They catch them daily.

If you like overpriced cookie cutter franchise shit. Mise well goto fkin Chilis or some shit. Lot of great places to eat in Old town and D.C. but Fairfax is in love with their generic BS.

You get much better value over at the Arthur Treacher's at Fairfax Circle. Great fish, chips, hush puppies, cole slaw and Fanta at an amazing price. Go check it out!

No. LJS sucks. Arthur Treacher's is much better - fresher fish, more golden browned hush puppies and a better selection of Fanta. So suck it, LJS.
