8th district (Alexandria,Arlington, Falls Church) is the most liberal congressional district in Virginia. It has been controlled by Democrats since 1990 with the D candidate typically taking 60% or more of the vote. The last round of redistributing made it more liberal and less competitive.
Don Beyer isn’t getting voted out but he’s getting older. He’s going to retire from politics after a couple of terms
