There really aren't any. There's Ruth's and the Capitol Grille which aren't bad, but I like the steaks at Eddy V's as well or better. Of course that's mostly a seafood place, so I usually lean that other way when I go.

Acqua al 2 down in the district at Eastern Market has a porterhouse for 2 that may be one of the best steaks I ever had.

However, if you want to stay in Fairfax/Northern Virginia, my top 5 are:

The Palm
Rays
Capital Grille
Ruth's
Any of the Great American restaurants will make a fine steak. If you go on a Prime Rib night, get it blackened.

Steakhouses are not always about steak. At Mikes in Springfield, dad could order the off menu 22oz prime rib, mom or gay son the roasted chicken salad, and your daughter and her black boyfriend LaMont, can have a bow tie pasta and steak top dish.

Acqua al 2 is really nothing special. Pretty disappointing really. Artie's and othet GAR spots have nice beef and prime rib offerings. They sell a lot of their Drunken Ribeyes.

I got the drunken ribeye ONCE....once!
Why would u take a beautifully tasty cut and then marinate it??
You do that to really tough cuts of meat IMHO.
Or, if you’re like the food lion of the late 80’s, you marinate your meat that is beginning to turn....

Sweetwater’s drunken ribeye=toooooo salty

Rustler Steak House was the place to get a great steak, and they had a 20 item salad bar.

Nothing wrong with marinating a ribeye. It absorbs flavor almost as good as flank steak.

But you are right about GAR salt levels. Not just the steak but all their food.

Obviously, you know nothing at all about haute cuisine. Or I'd guess about how to make pop-tarts either.

The two ingredients used more often in restaurant cooking than in home cooking are salt and butter. Maybe you should just stay home and microwave a couple of Steak-umms.

Only closet fagggs use the word “haute cuisine”
You must be a Bernie Supporter!

Is marinating wagyu beef “haute cuisine?”
If so, I hate “haute cuisine.”

Whatever happened to JR’s Stockyard Inn? I noticed it still sitting there around xmas but haven’t seen the place open in years. it was a joint with some real old school class.

as far as salt and butter, i was in an Outback kitchen awhile back, every steak on that griddle was cooked with a hunk of butter on it.

They had problems with changing regs in Tysons. They still do private parties there and work in several other locations as well. Their steaks and BBQ were very good back in the day. Went there often.

When did this forum just become a place for sexually frustrated white men?
It’s gotten so bad that some homos reference the word “haute.”
This guy must be a homo.
Most blue state homos are triggered bc Hilary lost.
I loved how she was taking a meditative stroll in the woods.

Amazing that the shortcomings of the dregs can be revealed by something as simple as "haute cuisine." What an indictment.

My same sex partner and I take our two adopted Chinese kids to the Outback Steakhouse all the time. Great bloomin' onions. Excellent fillet. Sometimes our post-op transsexual friend joins us.

Brazilian steakhouses are worth doing once for the novelty. Some will go back. Most won't.
